R8 vs. Gallardo

Front 1-0 Audi
Rear 1-1 Lambo
Side profile 2-2 tied
Wheels 3-3 tied
Interior 4-3 Audi
Best overall design 4-4 Lambo

It's a tie!

I love the R8 but paying 100k for an Audi when u could have a Lambo would be VERY tough for me to do...maybe if i had already owned/driven Lambo's and Ferrari's i wouldnt need to care about the name on the car...but as of now, if i could afford a 100k+ car, it wouldnt be an Audi.

Still, the front end of the R8 is NICE! Those LED's are sickness

Wow, $100K does seem a lot for a car built by one of the most dominant forces in motorsports, especially one that was inspired by a racecar.
The R8 has some of the best technology to date and after seeing it in person, I thought it was a little underpriced-especially when you see the build quality and attention to detail.

I still don't know that I am a fan of the R8 or not. I like it, yet i don't. I think if i were forced to pick one, i would take the Gallardo.

Point taken. However, for those of us who will buy a car and drive it on the street for fun, attention (yes i admit it), and the overall experience....id still have a VERY tough time dropping 100k+ on an Audi (even tho its REDICULOUS!) instead of the Gallardo.

Thats just me tho...

would be extremely tough to pick a winner out of the two... it is not fair performance wise since the G has 100hp and 2 more cylinders than the R8... but for $100k you cannot get a G... PERIOD... these two cars new is almost 100k in price!... now i don't know what you guys are talking about... but for the price and drivability i'd pick the R8 plus maybe a used 600hp+ 996TT just to beat around in for the price of a new G...

6088TTS- I'm sure he is talking about a used Gallardo and I'm with him on this one. The Audi is nice, state of the art, but 100k is steap in my opinion and it can't touch the prestige of a Lambo in the eyes of the average civilian. Just my opinion of course. I may take it back when I see it in person

ok... used G car it is... the cheapest one i've seen is around 130k... so that means alot of mileage on a exotic... and you know what that means... repairs are bound to happen... but yes you are right... for some people they will pick the G car no matter what because it is a Lambo... for me i'd take the Audi plus a used 996TT though...

6088TTS- It is definitely a more difficult decision to buy a used G when you can have a new R8. I have been set on buying a used G, now this. I just want to hate it, but can't I will have to see one in person and see how they do in the real everday world. Its an Audi so I'm sure it will shine...

The R8 is definately a stunning car and I think the price tag is definately fitting. As mentioned before, its very difficult to have a comparable exotic in the same range...and even then youre comparing a brand new car to one thats got upcoming services to worry about and has been used and abused. For the 100k price tag itll have, it sure does beat the hell out of an sl550 in terms of styling and performance as well as anything in that ballpark. Can't wait for a chance to drive one...
