All newer Audi’s have a really stiff ride for just cruising around but that’s not what they were purely made for. Going through a turn on a highway at 150 and you will feel what they are really made for, not bad on the track either. Audi engines are very reliable, the 2.7 is no exception. Here’s all the info you might need, also some really cool vids.

my friends turbos just went, APR stage 2 @ 140,000 miles so yea,
another buddy claims his turbos are slowly dying at 70,000 miles so i guess it depends on the chip type and how hard you beat the car

Had one years ago and loved it. Nothing more than a chip and exhaust but pretty damn quick. Only negative thing I'd say is that they're getting pretty old - I would personally not daily drive something with such dated safety equipment. That A4 body was released in '94 here in Euroland.

KAZ555 the car only has 40k on it, which is low milage for a 2001, i only use 93 oct from Sunoco cuz im a geek like that, the car hold its own on the highway, i handed a guy in a EVO 9 his *** from a stop light, from 60-120 it just pulls, the power delivery is so smooth with that motor.

I know a guy that lives down the street from my cousin that drives a stage III 2000.5 s4. he just put ko4 turbo in pushin 520hp to the crank and 410awhp still uses it as his daily driver.. the car is insane

Here is my old car from back in the day.

It was a 2000 Nogaro w/Sport Package.

I drove it 40k miles while Stage III with no problems (500CHP+)

Oh yea, some of you might know Matt Nunez... I walked his old Lambo Murci (Green) with no problem, he almost shiat his pants (All the way to 150+).

It was a pretty well known car on the Audi forums. Walked chipped 996tt's when I was on race gas.

6th Gear pulls on the toll road without downshifting was pretty fun (see vid)

Nothing like seeing the MPH needle move faster than the RPM needle

That 350z was the fastest in the country at the time... ran 11.4 ish @ 128 on street tires @ CA Speedway

The B5 S4 makes a decent daily, but it's not what I would call a reliable car - though I wouldn't lable it unreliable either. In my experience having owned two, both modded (one being a very well known car), and knowing tons of different owners, it's a crapshoot. Both of mine had problems, especially when compared to my E36 M3.

My first one was Stage 2 (ABT software), and the turbos were fine. I had a leaking cam seal, bad synchros, and bad control arms, but otherwise it was fine. The second one was a widebody Stage 3+, and had several different differential problems, the same synchro problems (just hard to get into gear when it was hot), and a bunch of other minor problems. I have several friends that blew several sets of turbos, went through several different trannies, and had a ton of other problems.

It seems that some will run forever, and some just have problems. It's a modable platform, and a decent daily, but frankly Audi build quality leaves something to be desired. The chassis is probably the loosest chassis I've ever felt.

i have a 01.5 silver/black w/ 56K miles on it...i've had it since 39K miles and love it. i have the giac x software and awe twin 1 exhaust....i've had minimal problems, but like any luxury car the cost of repairs is expensive...however my car is cpo'd till sept of 2007 so all repairs cost me $50, so i'm a happy camper. mine is a 6 speed.

if you are serious about looking for a s4 email me.

jigga622@yahoo.com

i love the car, i have all options, but sport package and fact nav.
