2001 Ducati 996 <1900 miles
I am selling my 2001 Ducati 996. I am the second owner and purchased the bike from the first owner back in 2005. He bought the bike from Munroe Motors, and had all services done by DesMoto Sport in San Francisco.
The bike has 1869 miles on it and has been babied from the first day of ownership. It has always been on a battery tender, has virtually new tires (<100 miles), and is totally stock except for a rear sprocket (changed by first owner) and different turn signals - Scott and Lance at DesMoto had custom fabricated a set of mirrors that have LEDs built into them in order to remove the ugly stock front turn signals. The original owner had an extended warranty through July 2006, but no claims were ever necessary or made.
All service work has been done by DesMoto and the bike is very clean, except for some light bodywork scratches on the upper right fairing. The motor is strong for a 996. Registration is paid through July 2008.
I am asking $8500 for the bike, which is a very fair price given how clean and well kept this example is, however I am open to reasonable offers. No joyrides or test rides allowed unless you bring $8500 in cash. Included with the bike are the rear stand and cover, as well as a AlpineStars size 50 leather riding jacket (black with some grey).

LOL - you learn to calibrate your expectations of reliability. Amusingly enough, it's the german cars that have been the most unreliable (well, the porka is ok but I haven't beat on it enough yet).
Much thanks.
