FS: '06 Evo IX - Stroker Motor + GT35R Turbo - Las Vegas

2006 Wicked White Evo IX

A list of all current modifications can be seen here...
http://www.doubledownmotorsports.com/evosale.htm

Major mods include:
- AMS 2.3RR Stroker Motor
- AMS GT35R Turbo Kit
- Cosworth Cams
- Supertech Valvetrain
- ACT Clutch/Flywheel
- Custom BC Racing Coilovers
- Progress Rear Sway
- Whiteline Bushings
- Mines Titanium Exhaust
- Eclipse DVD/NAV/SIRIUS
- EcuTek
- 18" Volk CE28N Time Attack Wheels w/ Toyo R1R Tires

The Good:
Motor, Turbo Kit, FMIC, Cams, Valvetrain, Clutch/Flywheel, Wheels, Tires, Coilovers all have less than 1000 miles on them.

The Bad:
Motor needs re-building. Apparently due to a crappy initial tune, the engine at one point in its 300 miles of life saw some major detonation. Dyno Comp in AZ did a compression check and the #4 cyl. is at 50. The car runs, and is safely tuned now, but it won't make more than 200whp. According to Dyno Comp, new pistons, rings, and a bit of machine work on the cylinder walls should bring it back to life. I don't want to fork out the cash to get it fixed just to sell it so I am offering it as is. This is a screaming deal for someone with a shop hook-up or that knows how to fix it themselves. I am not a mechanical genious when it comes to engines, but Dyno Comp has agreed to talk to any serious buyers in depth about what needs to be done.

ASKING $25,000 as is.

If interested, PM me or email me at mike@doubledownmotorsports.com

And photos of the pistons from Dyno Comp. There are more full size images I can send upon request.

I drove this car before the motor was built or it had a bigger turbo and it scared the **** out of me. Can only imagine how scary fast it is when it's running right now.

LOL, it was making 360whp then. It should be capable of 600whp when running 100%.

Thank you. I wont name names but it is a well respected tuner here in Las Vegas. He has done multiple Evos before, but not sure why he got this one wrong.

It should be perfect. The head was re-surfaced before they put it back together.

Any idea on how much it would cost to rebuild the motor?

I just sent an email to the shop that found the problem to see if i could get a solid quote for repairs since I have been asked this question a lot. I will update the thread when I get an answer. It should only need pistons and rings though, well, and a gasket kit since you are taking the engine apart.

I just noticed you are in San Diego. I will get a quote from a shop I know down there too.
