***2004 Ferrari Challenge Stradale FOR SALE!***
*Mods: I don't have 100 posts so I was unable to post this in the "Automobiles for sale" section so please move it there if you need to.*
Guys,
I am thinking of selling my 2004 Tour de France (TdF) Challenge Stradale. I have
other plans/opportunities coming my way in the near future and need to liquidate
this 'asset' (LOL).
The car is well known in the Ferrari community here in NorCal as this video
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkcfuCFv2TA) has been circulating the web for a
while.
The specifications of the car are as follows:
Year: 2004
Make: Ferrari
Model: Challenge Stradale
Color: Exterior-Tour de France (BLUE); Interior-Black/Blue alcantara
Mileage: 21,300
Service History: ALL service/maintenance up to date (have ALL records) and
rigorously maintained by Ferrari of Silicon Valley (FoSV) & Silicon Valley Auto
Group (SVAG).
Options:
1.) OEM CS Italian Stripe (put on by Dave @ Premier)
2.) Wheels: HRE 840R (19")
3.) Performance:
a.) Capristo Level 3 'Race' w/ Carbon Fiber tips
b.) HyperFlow Race Cats
c.) Tubi Air Filters
4.) Interior:
a.) MACarbon Steering Wheel (Custom made carbon fiber steering wheel w/
blue stripe)
b.) Carbon Fiber Dome Light Housing
c.) Carbon Fiber F1 paddles
d.) Carbon Fiber E-brake Handle
e.) Pioneer Head Unit w/ iPod connecter
f.) Upgraded speakers (car came with them)
Car comes with the original covers in duffel bag (car cover, seat covers,
steering wheel cover etc.), tools, books, manuals, and two (2) keys.
The car used to have Capristo Test Pipes (straight pipes) but I switched them out
for the HyperFlows. I still have the Test Pipes as well as the original
catalytic converters (OEM). Original cats come with the car; test pipes can be
had for an additional $1000.
Car has always been garaged and well taken care of. Minimal clutch & brake wear.
Of course, buyer can have a PPI done on the car and exact wear can be read.
I bought the car in June 2005 with ~5000 miles and have thoroughly enjoyed it!
I've many friends, contacts, and great memories through ownership of this
fantastic vehicle. It was my first Ferrari, and boy was it fun! TdF Blue with
Stripe is a stunning combo and I am the only person with that combo in the entire
Bay Area, CA; although I am not 100% sure, I am quite sure the other TdF CS's
here do NOT have the stripe.
Warranty work: Car was found to have a small leak in the steering column and was
thus replaced by Auto Gallery (in Los Angeles). All updates and 'fixes' for the
CS were done by FoSV.
The car has NEVER been tracked. It has been cared for meticulously throughout my
ownership.
***FULL DISCLOSURE***:
On March 26, 2006, I was driving the car on Hwy. 84 in Northern CA on my way to
Monterey and the road was wet, my tires were quite worn and I spun out at about
40 mph. The back end came out on me and I counter-steered but it was an over-
correction, therefore the car instantly spun anticlockwise 360 degrees. I slid
into the mud and thankfully I am still alive (a cliff was on the other side of
the turn) and did not make contact with anyone or anything except mud! By God's
grace I am still alive and well! It happened so fast the spin was over in less
than a second. With so many bikers and cars on that road it was truly a miracle
that I just spun out into the mud and didn't hit anything!
As the car spun in the mud (the rear end was in the mud), the right side of the
bumpers (front & rear right side) had a crack about six inches long and were
scratched. I have many pictures of the car from that day for proof. The car was
sent, who else but the best, to Dave @ Premier in Los Angeles and new bumpers
(from Ferrari) were installed (front & back). At that time, although
unnecessary, I wanted a new stripe to be put on because the old one had water
spots on them (car did NOT come with stripe from factory). Dave and his crew did
ALL the work on the car. A full inspection was done by Auto Gallery under (SM)
Gary Kawakami's supervision. There was absolutely NO structural damage, purely
cosmetic! The brakes, wheels, everything else were intact and nothing else was
replaced! A full report of all the work, inspection, and checks are with me.
*********************
Putting this unfortunate event behind me, I went on to experience more than
10,000 miles of absolute epiphany in this car under the intoxicating sound and
the brilliant downshifts in RACE mode!
Driving this car, especially in RACE mode, has been the closest I have ever come
to a spiritual experience! The sound NEVER gets old and at ALL RPM's it is spine
-tingling.
One of my friends ly said, "This car will be known as the 'car that
launched a thousand boners'!" HAHAHA.. I'll never forget it! I just wished it
dropped panties instead of exciting men.. but oh well.. haha..

The Pictures:
There are TONS of pictures and a great video of my car on www.UberExotica.com.
If you click on Cars->Ferrari->360->Challenge Stradale->Challenge Stradale (Blue)
you can see the video and more than 50 spectacular pictures of the car.
To those interested in the car, please contact me @ 650.450.1318.
I have many more pictures and videos of the car. I also have more pictures of
the car from the incident which I can show you.
Regarding the price, this is possibly the worst time to be selling but I figured
this car will go to the 'right' buyer; meaning someone who can truly appreciate
not only the Challenge Stradale for what it is, but what I have done with the
car, HRE's, Capristo, Carbon Fiber steering wheel, paddles etc.
I am looking to get $185,000 for my car. I am willing to negotiate a little but
keep in mind that this car has ~$25,000-$30,000 in upgrades (carbon fiber,
wheels, exhaust, race cats etc.). Although the car, as fully disclosed above,
was in an 'incident' as people would call it, it has no structural damage to any
part of the car and the bumpers, which were cracked and scratched was worked on
by the best in the country; Dave and his crew @ Premier. It was fully inspected
by an authorized Ferrari dealership and was given the green light. I would have
never taken the car back if it had any, and I repeat any, structural damage or
damage that would have made the car feel different or not drive as OEM (from the
factory) whatsoever.
Please don't hesitate to call me or PM me if you're interested in the car. Even
if you don't buy it, I just love talking about exotic cars and especially Ferrari
so go ahead and contact me.
I have been fully forthright regarding the car and I am not looking to nor do I
need to lie to anyone. I think it is time for me to move on so I am posting this
ad to see if anyone is interested in buying this splendid example of the
Challenge Stradale; of which there are only ~350 in the USA!

Um, do I know you? Who said I'm buying a GT-R? Going from a Stradale to a GT-R would be pathetic. That is NOT what I'm doing. Thanks for guessing though!
To those who complimented my car, thanks guys. If you want to talk about the car, give me a call.
Thanks.

I would of bought it without even a test drive, I've actually been searching for a Challenge Stradale for awhile now. Its too bad I live in Hong Kong where people drive on the wrong side of the road! SUPER NICE COLOUR COMBO ASWELL. SCUDERIA NEXT?

Agree 100% but it is a gorgeous car none-the-less. Good luck!

The only car I would replace my CS with is a Scud. Maybe.
Btw, the video of your car through the tunnel made the CS is a phenomenon on the internet.
