For Sale- 2007 ZO6 1000+ HP

Twin Turbo Corvette ZO6.

f-quick page containing more photos-

http://www.fquick.com/garages/Chevro...06/2007/19204/

Short video of the car being driven at the 750rwhp level- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9x1JcFRsH8

I purchased this car new and it currently has 4,400 miles. I am the tuner/fabricator at Speed Inc. The car has 800 miles since the completion of the twin turbo build.

Power is adjustable from 700-1200hp, either by manually setting the boost controller or automatically by enabling the gear referenced boost controller.

Base boost is 5.5psi and 643 rear wheel horsepower. (approx 700 crank horsepower)

Max boost on 93 octane pump gas is 13psi and 854 rear wheel horsepower (approx 925 crank horsepower)

1000+rear wheel horsepower is achievable with 16+psi and race fuel (approx 1200 crank horsepower).

If gear referenced boost control is selected through the controller it works like this-

1st gear 700hp

2nd gear 800hp

3rd gear 1000hp

4th/5th gear 1200hp

Increasing power per gear like this is a tremendous help in tractability.

This car was taken to the dragstrip for testing and fine tuning.

It ran 10.6 @141mph on the stock street tires launching with 5.5psi in1st gear increasing to a peak of 11psi boost in 4th gear on 93 octane.

With the addition of the included drag radials on extra wheels the car ran 10.6 @ 152mph on 100 octane race fuel and 16psi boost. This car is a rocket and still capable of much more!

Runs and drives flawlessly and feels like a stock ZO6 until you roll onto the gas.

Twin Turbo ZO6 Components-

Engine-

The stock high compression LS7 is not capable of reliably sustaining 1000+hp power levels.

The engine in this car is built with top quality forged components to ensure years of trouble free use at 1000+++hp power levels. The base of the engine is the World Products Warhawk LS7x block with 6-bolts per cylinder.

Block Info- http://www.worldcastings.com/ls7x_story.htm

A stock LS7 has only 4 bolts per cylinder which is not always reliable at high horsepower levels. Next up is a forged LS7 crankshaft, Callies connecting rods, and CP pistons with ceramic coated tops and friction reducing coated skirts. 9.5-1 compression ratio. H-series bearings with coating. Stainless steel PVD coated top ring and ductile iron second ring.

The cylinder heads are ET performance CNC ported LS7 6-bolt castings with stainless valves, dual PSI valvesprings and Xceldyne titanium retainers. Comp hydraulic roller cam, morel lifters, smith bros pushrods, harland sharp modified LS7 rockers. ARP head studs and Fel-pro multi layer MLS gaskets.

The oiling system was upgraded with a Johnsons high performance external 3 stage belt driven pump.
This pump scavenges the turbo oil and is an additional scavenge stage to the engine, pulling oil from the bottom of the pan and returning it to the dry sump reservoir. This system provides super efficient scavenging ensuring the reservoir is always full. Oil starvation is a possiblity with the stock setup and this takes care of that potential issue completely.

Turbo System-

The APS twin turbo system is excellent quality. The exhaust manifolds and turbo housings were ported and also JET HOT ceramic coated for heat retention and a long lasting finish. Intercooler air ducting was powdercoated black and the fuel rails were anodized black. This system uses Garret Ball Bearing GT35r turbochargers which have instant response and awesome horspower potential. The downpipes, h-pipe and exhaust system are polished stainless steel which looks great.

Turbo system information- http://www.airpowersystems.com/corvette/z06.htm

Driveline-

The driveline of this car was also upgraded to handle the horsepower reliably. It has a McLeod RXT dual disc clutch with MIBA lining. This clutch still has light pedal effort and is very smooth to drive. The clutch is contained by a Quick Time performance SFI approved bellhousing. The original T56 transmission was replaced with the upgraded 2008 ZO6 T-6060 trans which was built by RPM transmissions to level 5 specifications. The driveshaft shop supplied an upgraded driveshaft, 300m differential output shafts and 300m CV axles with upgraded 31spline hubs.

Fuel system and tuning-

The APS extreme performance fuel system inclued twin dual in-tank fuel pumps, twin teflon lined braided steel fuel feed lines and a stainless steel fuel pump carrier. I installed upgraded bosch motorsport 100lb/hr fuel injectors.

The factory LS7 pcm was carefully dyno-tuned with HP tuners 2.5bar speed density operating system. What this means is that the car automatically adjusts for any given boost level on the fly. This enables perfect integration with the Eboost 2 boost controllers gear referencing function. The car was fine-tuned on the street using the HP tuners software and permanantly installed Dynojet wideband air/fuel monitor.

Misc details-

Fluids used are 5w-40 Mobil 1synthetic oil, Royal Purple Synchromax transmission fluid, Royal Purple synthetic gear lube, Motul brake/clutch fluid.

Dynojet wideband air/fuel monitor wired for HP tuners interface.

Cooling system was upgraded with EVANS high flow mechanical water pump, high flow thermostat, and fan programming.

Eboost2 boost controller installed above navigation system in left hvac duct. LED shift light is in the same mount as the Eboost2. Gear referenced boost control is user selectable and knows each gear as the shift linkage activates microswitches wired to the controller.

Alternator was upgraded with 250amp high output unit.

Brakes have Hawks performance ceramic pads, stainless braided brake lines, Motul brake fluid.

M&H 345-35-18 drag radials on matching ZO6 wheels included

Vettes Under Cover car cover included.

This car is NEVER driven in inclement weather. It was only pulled outside of my heated garage briefly to take these photos.

This car was built to be reliable and can be driven anywhere. No expense was spared and parts were selected on basis of quality, not price. Over $63,000 in upgrades were invested into this vehicle. Including the original purchase price of $72,000 (msrp was $78,000+) I have a total of $135,000 into this ZO6.

Price is $96,000 OBO. trades considered

EDIT- new price $90k OBO

Should have a chance this weekend to take a video of the car out on the road.

vincentdds- Similar build though that car seems to be geared more towards drag racing with the automatic. A bit heavier with the iron block as well.

Would just like to say I know Jim personally and this guy knows how to build a car like no one else. His work at Speed Inc is just remarkable. If anyone is considering a well built Z06, Jim's personal car has to be at the top of your list. Few people out there can compete with his level of knowledge and attention to detail.

Good luck with the sale, Jim.

If it's 65+deg outside you need to roll into it in 1st and then from that point on 2nd gear and up have great traction. In colder weather it will spin through 3rd gear pretty hard if driven aggressively.

With gear referenced boost control it's something like this-

1st gear 6psi 645rwhp

2nd gear 10psi 770rwhp

3rd gear 13psi 855rwhp

4th gear 16psi 1000+rwhp

Looks like I won't get a chance to take the car out this weekend for some more video due to the weather. Looks like it might be decent out mid next week.
