I'm reposting this car (which I own now) for sale. It's an absolutely amazing machine and the most fun car I've ever driven. I've owned it for 4 months, and I've done one track event. The problem is that it's too fast. I hit 170 or so on the back straight at VIR. There's almost no one on the track to run with at a DE (other than fully setup turbo racecars, cupcars, etc.). I was running 2:05s on hoosiers and 2:08 to 2:10 on stock street tires at VIR first time there in this car. A bit of suspension work and some slicks and this is a 2min car (997cup speeds).
I had a leakdown test done 4 months ago right before I bought it - under 3% across all 6 cylinders. The car is still as described above.
The car has completely rebuilt, zero mile, good as new (by forced performance/tial) Alpha GT30 turbos, so there is flow upside (should you desire) above 700hp.
This car will get to 150mph fast enough to scare 99.8% of drivers. Not for the faint of heart, but also the ultimate example of Porsche's ultimate driver's car. It will blow you away how hard it pulls in 5th gear at 160...
It has 50,000 miles and I'm asking $59,000. It's in my garage at VIR, and I'm in Raleigh. derick_cooper@yahoo.com 919 338-8173
Original add below:
2002 911 GT2, VIN WP0AB29942S696221. Arctic Silver / black interior with GT3 rollbar & seats, Schroth 6 point harnesses. Comes with Evolution Motorsports GT700 kit - see www.evoms.com for details on this kit. Car was recently updated & tuned by Bodymotion in October '08 at cost of over $7k. Has just over 47k miles, 2-owner vehicle. I have all books, original window sticker, 2 keys, etc. I'm a DE instructor for BMWCCA, NASA, and Trackmasters and I've used this car since summer 2007. Have title in hand. I'm looking for a purpose built track / racecar hence the sale of this car - it is visually & mechanically very clean, no leaks, and doesn't look like a "track rat."
Here's what the car looks like pulling away on the straights (video from my friend's car):

Found a race car and would like to move this - $62,000. That's not a whole lot more than a 996TT for a whole, whole, whole lot more car. One of the turbos was leaking a bit, so I'm having BOTH rebuilt. If you'd rather upgrade to the Alpha 28s with ball bearings, let me know quickly before I've spent the money on these turbos.

Derreck, were you at the VIR event with PCA/FSR in May? If that was you, I was in the Black 996TT with the CCW wheels. We talked a few times, and you had me check out your fender liners...
If this is the same car, It's as represented in the pics and really in great condition...
