Sold!! Thanks for the great car Kevin. Funny, this is my second blue M car purchased on 6speedonline in 6 months!! LOL...

We really enjoyed the drive hom as it gave us time to learn all about the many cool things this car does. I think the tires are going to have to be replaced, but I might get some mileage out of these...we'll see. I'm still not sure why you sold it as it seems like such a great car. We got compliments on it several times on the drive home when we would stop for gas or food.

I'm sure I'l have other questions for you soon. Let's also chat soon about getting the remaining parts home.

Congrats! You got yourself a great car. (Sounds great, doesn't it?)

Wow, it's examples like this that prove the e60 M5 is one of the top BMW's ever.

Thanks guys! I did truly get a great car. Time will tell if it is reliable, roadworthy, etc...but it is damn fun in the meantime.

I have owned the E34 M5, the E39 M5 and now the E60 M5. I gotta be honest, if you take into account the quality of the build and the capability of the car in its own era, BMW has gotten itright 3 out of 3 times. My E34 was low tech, but mounds of torque, handled like a track car, and one hell of a good looking car. My E39 was tons of torque down low and a very powerful rpm band with a beautiful design inside and out, an interior to die for and a classic design. While I'm still getting to know the E60, I can comment on the fact that the V10 is not lightning quick torque-wise off the line, but if you don't have your seatbelt on after 4000 rpm's it will throw you out the back window as punishment for your disrespect and doubt. Once you're past 1st gear the car stays in the powerband constantly, offering plenty of chances to scream like a little school girl who just got asked to herfirst dance. Bottom line, this car is fast, fun and downright nasty.

Oh, and the exhaust is just silly as well. Not surprising to me because of the Fabspeed muffler bypass I have on my 993TT and the active autowerke exhaust I have on my supercharged E46 M3, but needless to say...a Meistershaft exhaust on an E60 M5 sounds wicked.

All in all, my experiences with M5's has been nothing short of satisying if not religious. I hope this car lends itself to the same history I have had with M5's to date, and if history is any indication, it will.

Hey Kevin,
How is shipping the parts coming? Have you gotten the hood and exhaust out the door yet? If I get pulled over one more time for the damn exhaust I may have to switch back...LOL!!!

I checked with the dealer about the key, it's on order...I'll call you this week.

Robert

Just got your thread, remind me of your Blue M5, and how much $ would get you interested.

The pictures of it are in this thread, everything is exactly the same. The only thing changed is I went back to the original hood, but the other hood comes with the car. If you are serious we can chat via pm, otherwise no worries!

911/M5 08-16-2011 11:11 PM

Kevin,
I still need you to send that hood buddy! It's been a year! I'm thinking about switching hoods but I really need it in case I decide to sell the car. Thinking about a Cayenne Turbo...
