You can obviously see it was in the pictures. The 2000 model only had the all black faces. The pictures show the newer grey faced gauges.

It had the newer gray faced guages, but no they weren't changed. It came like that. All the rest of the obvious changes that differed between the model years like exteriour lights, etc... were changed.
