THE GOOD:
- ONE owner
- this car was a dealer "demo" car. by demo, it means it sat on a BMW dealer showroom floor with 19 mi on the clock when I bought it new.
- all service and maintenance records are with local dealer (BMW of Fremont) except for last several oil changes which i did on my own after the warranty expired.
- i also did the spark plug change around 59k mi. the orig plugs look clean but i replaced them anyways. I have the orig plugs if you want to look at them lol.
- the car runs excellent.
- Clean CARFAX. ZERO accidents.
- aside from routine maintenance, the car only went in service for the following very minor common issues on e39 m5s:
- broken cupholder
- rearview mirror replaced (dimmer fluid leak)
- power steering fluid leak
Mods List (over $15k worth of goodies when bought new)
- Brembo GT BBK (I have the stock brakes which I will include)
- KW V2 Coilovers (I kept the stock suspension which I will include)
- 19" Cargraphic Rims on GY RA1's (255/275) [3 wheels good w/ tires. one front wheel bent with no tire. you'll have to source the part to fix.]
- currently on 18" OEM wheels on Falken Azenis (one rear rim have curb rash)
- Bluetooth retrofit kit
- UUC Evo3 SSK+DSSR
- Hardwired for V1 (V1 not included)
- Stealthone for V1
- Weichers Front Strut Bar
- IceLink->Ipod
- Titanium trim. (I also have CF overlayed trims which I took off. will include in the purchase)
- New battery (Werker 95R-LI from Batteries Plus)
- rear sway bar brackets by TC Design (i haven't been around this forum in awhile but this is what many of you refer to as "Beastpower brackets". Beastpower does not make these. they just sell them. never mounted. the OEM brackets never broke)
- IATS relocation kit (never mounted)
- UUC shift **** (never mounted)
THE BAD:
Exterior
- the front bumper was already repainted before due to rock chips. The paint was done by local bay area shop (B-Line) about 4 or 5 years ago. now it has rock chips again.
- at the time i had the front bumper repainted, i had the rear bumper repainted as well. no, it's not what you think. i didn't park the car forward enough into my garage and the garage door scratched the edge of the rear bumper as it came down.
- as mentioned, now the front bumper and hood has a lot of rock chips again. i tried to touch them up but it just made things worse. honestly, It needs a repaint. it's an eye sore. (see pics)
- some very minor door ding that can fixed easily by dent removal guys
- curb rash on 1 rear wheel
Interior
- the back of the driver's seat has some scratches from my kid's shoes. i think a good detailer might be able get them prestine again. (see pics)
THE UGLY:
I am selling because I have gone off the deep end with tracking my 997 GT3. bought a trailer and now I need a tow vehicle.
If car doesn't sell in the next month, I will put back to stock and will trade it in with dealer and the list of mods above will be for sale individually. so please PM me an offer if you are interested in any of the mods. I will contact you if the car doesn't sell privately with all the goodies. Only reasonable offers please and will sell to highest offer but locals will be prioritized as I really don't like shipping things.
Any questions contact me at by email: j o e s 9 9 7 @ g m a i l
I'm open to PPI at any local location provided the inspection is prepaid by the buyer.
Thanks for looking.
here's what she looked like with the cargraphic rims (they are off the car now 'cos front wheel is bent.)
now with stock wheels:
rock chips and my lousy touchup job
back seat:

that's a great ad, really detailed. i love the rear driver's seat, it shows that these cars are meant to be driven and used like regular cars. i'm surprised at the rock chips...i had an anthracite m5 and when i touched up the chips they really didn't show all that much..maybe because of the lighter color on yours...
anyway, glws, the e39 m5 is and will always be a classic...i still miss mine...

cohenfive, thanks for the kind words. i think the difference with how your touchup job turned out vs. mines is skills... i don't have it in me. i'm going to miss this car for sure. seriously.
