Congrats to MTL911. Out of curiosity, other than the jumping through the usual hoops (safety, etc), what else was involved in order to import into Canada? As for fees, just HST + 6%?
Enjoy the car!

Hey, thanks for the kind words. Nothing but great memories from 3si, and I'm glad to see you here on 6speed. When your time comes, feel free to reach out and I can walk you through do's/don't of these cars and would be happy to help you find the right one. They are an absolute blast to drive and own, and I just don't see anything out there that comes close to what this car offers for the money.
Glad to see you sent it up north! Good luck mtl911 with the car you got alot of car for the $$!

Thanks for kind comments all, the car is going to an true enthusiast and I'm sure he'll have a blast with it.
I'm more than happy to help any of you guys out as you consider various 996TT cars. I still think this paticular car was one of the best deals for the money out there (if not the best) considering its shape/history/maintenance. I'd encourage you guys to really stay away from the "best deals" and shop for the right car - in the long run, the extra few grand on a $40k purchase price is nothing for the right car.
Finally, with the car gone and only a couple of Porsche shirts & a hat left behind to remind me of the car, I have to say that buying, owning, and even selling this car has been an awesome experience thanks to this community. I made a friend buying the car, then made more friends throughout the ownership, and finally found a ton of things in common with the new owner.... who promised me updates & pictures of the car, so while the transaction is over, I'm hoping the relationship lives!!! :-)
Thanks 6speed and hope everyone is having a great thanksgiving!!

TK,
Glad and sad to see your porsche go to its next owner. If you get the porsche itch, you can help me with some interior mods on the car. I got red seat belts and a black-painted lower center console that will need installation over the car's winter hibernation.
