Seller's Notes:
'Whos the UBoat Commander' This is the one that broke the mold. In '87 the S4 was a supercar. Porsche created the 928 in the 70's during a global fuel crisis, hoping it would replace the aging 911 and against all odds of survival it evolved into this beauty right here. Costing $60k new (you could snag a pretty decked out S4 Panamera with that same $100k inflated for today) it was one of the defining automobiles of the 'GT' class. I got hooked when I saw a white '78 928 underneath a huge tree in a car magazine at age 9. I told myself that some day I would own one of those. It took me decades but I fulfilled a personal promise and this vehicle was everything I thought it would be. Unless you've driven one, the experienced can't be explained. Fast, agile, comfortable 'what more can I say' there is no substitute. If you're looking into buying a 928 than you know what you're getting into, grab original specs from this Rennlist link. http://members.rennlist.com/pirtle/s4specs.htm
I want to be truthful in this car's condition as I was kind of duped when I purchased it 4 years ago. The previous owner had bodywork done on the right rear quarter and tail fascia. At this time he had the rear fascia replaced with a GTS rear end where the red reflector runs across the whole panel. He also replaced the slotted wheels with turbo twist wheels. This updates the car to look 10+ years younger. Also, last summer the car was backed into while parked in a faculty parking lot in Boston. I had bodywork done on the left front quarter panel and nose fascia. See enclosed pics for a job well done. Although all the above options are standard on the car there are a few electrical gremlins not uncommon for older 928's. The cruise control and A/C do not function properly. The coolant level light comes on and has done so since day one even though I've had the radiator replaced and had the hoses/coolant checked more times than I can remember. News tires were put on a month ago.
