1971 Ford Bronco
Backstory - I bought this Bronco to be a substitute sunny day alternative driver. I wasn't shopping for a truck but it was such a striking color combination with the yellow and black accents, I had to have it. My commute is 30 miles each way and it's just not going to work for my daily type use. I put some money into it making it nicer and installing some of the missing amenities to make it more useable. Getting it to be a daily street truck is proving to be more than I'm willing to deal with right now, so I'm selling it as-is. Im into the setup for 10,500 total and hope to sell for 10,000
EDIT: 8000 before tomorrow night, otherwise sells on ebay sunday
I am interested in a trade for an uncut, unlifted Bronco if someone is interested in building a trail truck. This would save both of us some headaches, though this is probably not the right place for that.
The truck is an attention getter to the point where you would be surprised by the response. You will be stopped at every red light, gas station, fast food joint, ect. asking if you would sell the truck (until the day you decide to sell it, then you will only get thumbs ups and "sweet car, man!"). The paint is very catching in person and really looks great on this body. Really looks much better in person than I have the skill to photograph. The color is chrome yellow.
The Good- The truck is 40+ years old and very simple. Brand new paint job, Just replaced carb and alternator, truck runs well, it is cheaper than a side by side ATV and can be driven on the street. It would make an amazing "no creature comfort" toy or tool though.
The Bad- The truck is 40+ years old and very simple. Indicative of the age, there are a few poorly executed rust repairs under the body pan and there are rust spots that were just POR treated. The ride will knock your fillings out, coil springs and leaf springs on a true axle, it's not a lexus for sure. The fuel economy is probably in the negative numbers. And lastly, it takes some praying to get the truck to stop before plowing through the hybrid in front of you at a red light.
All in all, I think it's a great start to a project truck with a lot of the cosmetic work already complete. It really looks like a movie star especially for being so old and classic. The truck runs strong and has a new clutch.

Oh yeah, it's nice. Especially in the looks department, but it's still 40 year old technology. Terrible ride, terrible braking, are all attributes of an SUV that is lifted and running larger than stock tires. That is compounded by old shock and spring technology and lack of ABS.
I may have been too harsh on it though, looks like Im going to pay dearly for my criticism on my ebay ad. The guy I bought it from described it as "nearly perfect" as a point of reference. I feel it's far from perfect, but "perfect" is selling for 75,000 on these now
Live and learn, I guess

Fixing brakes on these cars aren't all that hard...Truck probably has drum brakes and just needs to updated to disc...I don't think you were that harsh at all...At least you were honest!

I think is is a very honest ad - at least honest for anyone who has driven a vehicle of the era. I've got a 1969 FJ40 (with a Chevy V8 swap) and even though the brakes are in perfect working order - they suck by today's standards. Like your Bronco, the ride is rough and it drinks gas but it sure does put a smile on my face when I drive it - though my commute is 10% of yours.
Good luck with the sale. Hopefully your auction will pick up as the time winds down. I'd buy it myself, but I don't have room to store another toy. That is a ton of truck for $5k-$8k.
I've got to quit looking at the ad before I do something dumb.

Ok, let me preface this with "I hate ebay." Apparently, they flagged my auction 2 hours before the auction ended because I used someone elses pictures in my ad. It had 200 people watching the auction and over 2500 views, bidding was getting hot and it just cleared 6000 dollars.
Well, they were correct. I used two pictures from an ad from 4 months ago that I was the winner of to show what the truck looks like with the top off, since I dont have any pictures of such. Worst part is, I cited that those two pictures were from when I bought the truck months ago and the rest were brand new pictures taken by me.
Now I just removed those pictures and relisted the auction. Starting at 1 dollar, no reserve. I NEED THIS GONE THIS WEEK.

Ok, I thought I was done with the ebay thing, but the response was really great on there. Gotta admit, that site does a great job of reaching the masses. Anyway, relisted it again, no reserve.
