Lease takeover 2012 X5M
Year: 2012
Make: BMW
Model: X5
Price: $1443
Mileage: 6000
Color: Carbon Black
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): CA
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: 4WD & AWD
This is my first leased car and I have no idea about the transfer process other than the fact there are some fees involved. I'm willing to cover those fees you just have to take over the monthly payments which may change depending on your tax rate.
It's a 12,000 mile/year 3 year lease that started 12/2011 so ends 12/2014. Obviously given the short term all of your maintenance and service etc is covered by BMW's awesome maintenance and warranties.
The car is well optioned to be a DD I think, which is why I picked it up.
- Carbon Black Metallic Paint
- Black Merino Leather (dash is NOT leather)
- Carbon Leather Trim
- Driver Assistance Package
- Premium Sound Package
- Rear Climate Package
- Comfort Access keyless entry
- High-gloss roof rails
- Side view camera
- BMW Assist
I think I forgot one or two minor details. The car is immaculate, still smells new.
FYI it gets about 14-15mpg if you drive it normally. Adjust that significantly downward when you drive aggressively in "manual" mode and with full power "M" mode engaged.
If there's any interest I'll post some pictures (any requested angles let me know) and get the details on the full payment amount.
Car is located in Northern California. Happy to do a PPI at a dealership or any local specialty shop as well.

If you're anywhere near $1200 a month, that's a great deal (relatively speaking).
My '10 payment is $1585 w/out Tax ($.05 off list as the first one in Minneapolis )
BMWNA transfer fee is $500 I believe.

As I just completed a BMW lease transfer a few months ago, here is how the process works:
1. Once you have an interested buyer, you should call BMWNA and give them his contact info (email primarily).
2. BMWNA will send the credit application to the buyer, and someone needs to pickup the transfer fee which is $500. It's between you and the buyer, but it will show up on your next statement until it's paid off.
3. If the buyer is not approved, $400 will be refunded
4. if the buyer is approved, BMW will send the docs to both parties and those need to be signed and sent back
5. once all docs are confirmed, BMW sends a confirmation email to both parties that the car can be transfered. At that point, the buyer assumes all responisbility for the car and payments.
Overall, it's a 2-3 week process on average, possibly shorter if both parties and responsive..
FYI - you forgot to mention what is the monthly payment...

Wow, thanks so much for posting this info. Super useful.
I'm more than willing to cover the fees, I said in my post it's approximately 1200 or so, when I get home I'll check and get the exact amount.

PM's replied to. I should have taken pictures over the weekend when the weather was gorgeous. Come outside this morning and it's raining
Also I was wrong, I updated the post with the price pre-tax it's really 1448, sorry about that.

Huge photos
The HUGE HUGE photos that thankfully this forum resizes are included in the post here. I have a ton more pictures but I think I should take some time to crop them down before I post them all. There are spots on the car, some are bug splatter, and others are because it is my DD and of course 2 days after I washed it, it rained. I've only had the car for 6 months so I haven't taken any serious glamour shots of it yet so these will have to do for now. I'll wash it again and get better pictures over the next week or so.
I attached one photo from the day before it rained so there's no ugly/dirty spots on the car. That is at the bottom of the post (as an attachment)

Total Lease Payoff $82,934.51 from BMW's website, it says that quote is good until 7/10 which I assume means it will go down as each month's payment is made?
Original MSRP was 93 or 95k, I'll have to check the window sticker when I get home...
