So, I'm trying to decode what the E85 significance is. I understand that composition of fuel is a route to higher horsepower, but does that make it like a flex-fuel vehicle in that it'll have best performance on E85, but can also run 93 octane premium pump gas? Or is it E85 or race gas only?
I'm looking for something for tracking, since my 991TTS is so tire limited (and expensive from a consumables-cost perspective). A tuned 997.1 for the track is exactly what I'm looking for (and as a PDK owner, I'm not even a Tip hater, if the tranny is tuned and toughened for the high-hp stress!). I'm man enough to admit that my inconsistency at rev-matching with a heel-toe costs me lap time, and I have a ball shaving seconds while the PDK takes over for a blipshift skill that will soon be as obsolete as an air-cooled engine. ;-)
I'd be most interested in this if the deal incorporated taking my 2008 (C6) Corvette Z06 in trade; otherwise, it'd have to wait until I sold that car (I picked it up with the intent of making it my track car, but the reality is that I simply prefer tracking the 911 platform more than the 'Vette one. Here's the Autotrader ad on the C6Z:
