About the car
This was Ryan Sprehe, formerly GSS Speedshop, Supra. To be honest, I never given thought of owning a Supra. Then I found myself browsing eBay and came across this gem. I thought to myself if I ever had a Supra, this is the way I would build it: a COMPLETE, FAST, RELIABLE, and STREETABLE Supra. Within a few weeks, I was scheduling a delivery with Ryan.

When I first got the car, it was a few weeks before Tx2k11. She had only 47k miles on her with a fresh build and I was breaking her in slowly. She started up perfectly every time and drove like a stock car (with the exception of getting used to the clutch). I was surprised how smooth and tame she was. I thought to myself, “Can this really be the monster in the videos?”

Tx2k11 came and Darin (Double D Tuning) tuned the car. I gave a couple hits at low boost and was fairly comfortable. We tuned her to the point where I told them to turn high boost down because I was not ready for that kind of power. Here’s a run at 800whp that year:

After a few weeks, the engine blew. I let a buddy drove her and he turned the boost up when the she was on pump gas. Needless to say, I was furious. I’ve only had her for a short period of time but I felt like I lost something special, something irreplaceable. I made a quick call to Ryan, now Prosource, and he scheduled a pickup.

Ryan and Dynosaur built a brand new block and upgraded the turbo. Thankfully, nothing else was damaged. Originally, it was a 7675 setup and I wanted the biggest 76mm turbo (a 7685) in order to compete in Class 4 at Tx2k. Since it was backordered for 3 months, we settled on the 7680 so I can have her back ASAP. Darin flew in tuned her. She made 1021whp at 33psi, on E85, in 102F weather. The injectors were at 85% so we decided to stop there.

Why am I selling it?
Honestly, I don’t want to. Everyone I have spoken to regrets selling their Supras. But the fact is, I have other priorities in life that I need to attend to. I won’t deny that writing this is a walk down memory lane, and is keeping me strongly from selling her.

Other Pics and Videos

I believe that this car is one of the most well built, all-purpose Supra out there, alongside Geo’s. I saw a post in his sale thread that I believe applies to my Supra. Here’s his quote:

“What I would like everyone to realize is that this is a rare example of buying a car that makes over 1000whp that is actually sorted out. Normally, even in the event you find a 1000+whp car - even a well built one - even one with top notch parts - most of them are either parked 90% of the time and taken out for a quick 50 mile drive on the highway 10 times a year or taken to car shows. This car was built to be driven hard, and I've driven it hard. There is something to be said for sorting a car out. When you build something that came with 320hp to this level...AFTER you just "bolt the parts together" there is a period of making sure it all works together, make sure the tune works well. Make sure the big injectors start well in all conditions, make the necessary changes to the suspension to accommodate the tires, etc etc etc. If you're buying a car like this, it's assumed that you want it to "just work" and this is one case where it does. This isn't a car that someone else built, I bought and hid in my garage for a couple years like many others that come for sale. This is a car that my shop built extensively and we have worked through any encountered issue or nuance. If I were buying this level of car, that would be very important to me.”
