Well unfortunately the time has come to sell my beloved black on black 2004 911 Turbo X50 due to financial reasons. I bought it in June 2007 with only 28k miles on it from a M-B dealer in Tampa that took it on trade from the original owner who apparently took immaculate care of it since it didn't have a single scratch (not even a tiny one!) and the interior looked brand new other than the driver's side seat bolster had a few minor creases in it.

Now that the car has a few more miles on it, it does show a little more wear. The driver's side seat bolster has a few more creases, and they're a bit more noticeable. The passenger seat still looks new since it's very rarely been used. The floor mats are fairly well worn. Other than that, the car is pretty immaculate inside! The outside has the standard small paint chips from rocks, but those are all very small except for three that I'll mention. First, there is a very minor half inch scratch next to the passenger side headlight from a rock. Second, there is a similar half inch scratch on the top of the passenger side of the spoiler from a rock. Third, there is about a 3/4" scratch on the passenger side of the car on the roof right where the rack would attach. It is clear it was done deliberately by someone with a key or something similar.

The car now has 63k miles on it and has been modified pretty extensively, mostly by Vivid back in March 2012. Here's a link to my build thread at Vivid, including more pictures of the car including ones of the car apart so you can see the mods:
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...n+build+thread

You can also see more pictures of the car in my garage in my profile.

The factory price was almost exactly $150,000 ($149,950).
The factory options include these things (I might be missing a few, so I'll have to check the original window sticker which I still have!):
6 speed manual transmission
X50 power package - $18k - GT2 turbos and intercoolers, revised exhaust, and ECU mapped to support these changes. Instead of the standard 415HP/420?TQ the car comes with 450HP/457TQ.
Sport steering wheel - Very rare option, gives you a smaller and thicker steering wheel with revised stitching that makes it more comfortable for performance driving
Full black leather interior
Turbo script and stitching on center console
Full leather rear center console
Porsche crests in headrests
Factory sport seats with black plastic seat backs, additional shoulder bolsters
Power driver and passenger seats
Heated driver and passenger seats
Aluminum trim shift ****
Aluminum trim emergency brake
Aluminum door handles
Aluminum handles on door storage boxes
Various other Aluminum trim interior kits - at least a couple of them, but can't remember how many (various other areas than what I already listed around the interior have aluminum highlights)
Factory nav (I have both West and East discs)
Bose stereo with dual subs - I'm a stereo guy and like having a good system, but I never felt the need to upgrade it because the factory Bose system is pretty good, plus the engine and upgraded exhaust sound WAY better than ANY stereo!
6 disc changer (trunk-mounted)
Rear windshield wiper (easily deleted if you don't like it by unscrewing the arm and sticking in a Bumper Plugs plug that's just a few bucks)
GT3 style wheels (sorry, traded/sold for the factory hollow spokes listed below - I know these are in high demand since they only came on the '04 and very few peope special ordered them, but I never liked the way they looked on the Turbo!)
And I think the following items are standard but since I wasn't positive I listed them:
Xenon headlights with auto leveling and fog lights
Auto climate control
Porsche Stability Management (PSM)
Traction Control

Recent Maintenance
Oil change with Mobil 1 and filter changed
Full coolant flush and replace
Front and rear rotors, pads, and sensors replaced in braking system with OEM parts (I didn't upgrade these items because the stock ones already provide awesome performance!)
Tires excellent tread all around (more below about this)

Here is the full list of mods on the car today.
BODY/APPEARANCE MODS:
OEM Euro smoked (not just clear) side markers with orange bulbs - I still have the original OEM orange markers and clear bulbs too.
MA Shaw GT2 front bumper - This is a high quality American-made poly part with extensive fiberglass reinforcement and perfect fitment. If you're not familiar with this company, search the forums and you'll find they have an excellent reputation.
MA Shaw carbon fiber front lip - It has some scratches and dings, but I also have a brand new lip too that will come with the car. It also acts like a splitter and provides a good amount of additional downforce on the front wheels/axles. (Matched with rear spoiler changes.)
MA Shaw stainless grill screens in all holes in the front bumper - These are very functional and protect your radiators really well. There are a couple of decent dents in the center one from rocks that would probably have damaged the radiators! They are very securely mounted, but you can't see any of the mounting points. I paid to have a Porsche dealer mount them (not cheap!) and they did a perfect job.
Rear spoiler converted to fixed high mount kit - The OEM hydraulics failed at about 60k miles as is very common, and I went with the kit that fixes the OEM spoiler in place. I went with the "high" version of the kit so the spoiler is about 20mm higher than the normal high position.
WHEELS & TIRES
HRE 19" P43R wheels - Chrome spokes and lips with matching OEM black and silver center caps. Front lips are about 2" and rear lips are about 3.5". You'll have to refer to the HRE website for more specifics. They retail for $1800 each for the rears and $1350 for the fronts last time I checked ($6300 plus shipping total). The clear coat on one wheel is peeling slightly in the center of the wheel, but it's hardly noticeable. I could have this repaired if the buyer is interested. Currently mounted with Hankook Ventus V12 tires with 80% tread left (235/35? front and 295/30? rear - I'll have to check the sizes)
OEM Wheels also available:
OEM 18" Turbo hollow spoke wheels with Toyo Proxes R888 track tires
(still DOT legal though so you can drive them on the street or to the track!) with one Porsche Club track day and about 45 minutes of run time. Stored indoors correctly and never exposed to cold temps. >90% tread remaining.

Suspension
OEM Struts & Springs - Still on original factory parts. Front right strut just started to creak very occasionally on some slow speed bumps. Front left and rear struts have never creaked. I was looking at replacing the struts and springs this year as part of my upgrade path, but the same lack of funds that's making me sell the car prevented this. This means the buyer can now choose whatever setup they want to go with. If you want an aggressive setup that's still ok for the street, I'd highly recommend the H&R Club Sports. If you want to stick with more of a comfortable street setup, then I'd go with just replacing the struts with OEM Bilsteins. However, I haven't noticed any decrease in performance yet from the suspension, just the start of the occasional creak a thousand miles ago or less from the one strut, so they could be fine for thousands of miles still.
Eibach Front & Rear sway bars - Set to soft front and mid rear for neutral to mild oversteer handling. No more understeer and slight oversteer makes the car much more fun to drive! They're 3-way adjustable so you can dial back in understeer or make the car aggressively oversteer. I had planned to do the front and rear springs and struts at the same time, but wanted to see what the sway bars did first. They make a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference over the stock handling of the Turbo and would be my first mod to recommend to any Turbo owner!

Engine/Exhaust Mods
In addition to the factory X50 package (GT2 turbos, intercoolers, and exhaust mods):
EPL High Altitude tune with custom street tuning for the particular car and the other engine mods below
Agency Power F Hose (for higher boost)
Agency Power Diverter Valves (to handle higher boost and prevent common "honking" failure)
911tuning flexible turbo inlet pipes - 2.5" instead of OEM 2" inlet pipes from turbos to intercoolers to allow for much larger volume of airflow
Agency Power exhaust with 100 cell cats and stainless quad tips - High flow cats let the engine breath much better so the turbos can spool much faster and easier and produce more power
Denso one step colder spark plugs - Remove risk of detonation (i.e. really bad engine damage) from running higher power levels
Coolant system fix - welding / pinning 8 metal hoses/joints - Fixes common source of failure in the cooling system where epoxy joining rubber hoses to metal pipes fails, especially at higher mileage or under track conditions
Replace 3 rubber coolant hoses (driver's side, passenger side, water pump) - Replaces 3 common hoses that fail, including using upgraded 997 parts for two of them (no upgraded part available for third hose)

Transmission/Clutch Mods
Clutch Masters stage 3 (FX300) fiber tough clutch - Allows clutch to handle the upgraded power level
Clutch Masters custom modded pressure plate
- Allows clutch to handle the upgraded power level
C
lutch Masters single mass lightweight flywheel (LWFW) - Makes the car accelerate faster through less weight in the flywheel the engine now needs to spin up
GT2 slave/master clutch conversion - removes the power assist and makes it feel like a true race car clutch
OEM 997 tranny mount - replaces the soft OEM 996 tranny mount with the much stronger 997 version which makes the shifts feel much better and more positive, plus anchors the engine and tranny better (the engine only has rear mounts and the tranny mount acts as the front engine mount - think of them as a triangle)
G-box 2nd gear popout fix - My car NEVER had the fairly common 2nd gear popout issue, but I figured this change wouldn't hurt so why not do it while everything else was being done.

Braking Mods
Agency Power stainless steel hoses front and rear to firm up brake pedal feel, especially under repeated, hard braking
Motul Racing fluid - DOT 4 racing fluid that handles higher temps and repeated, hard braking much better than the stock fluidOEM new front brake pads, rotors and sensors

I think that's everything, but I'm sure I'm missing something! The car has had oil changes every 6-7k miles at most (when I was just doing boring highway driving), and always before and after each Porsche Club track day. If you know anything about the PCA track days, they don't do much more to a car than a spirited drive on public roads. I did about 4 PCA track days over the course of 3 years. I've been driving manuals since I was 12 years old driving tractors on a farm (which are the toughest manuals you can drive period) and treat my clutches better than anyone you've ever met. I usually get 120k miles minimum from a clutch, even in high performance cars. Fluids are always changed ahead of schedule, and any potential problems are checked immediately.

I've never run the car on a dyno, but on the straight at High Plains Raceway, the car easily passes 997 Turbo S cars without them having to let off so I have time to pass them on the relatively short straight. I estimate it's at least 600HP/600TQ. The power level is honestly what I would consider perfect for the car since it's so fast you almost can't use so much power most of the time on the street, and it's a great balance to the upgraded handling. I'm very sorry to see the car go, but all good things must come to an end!

The price is negotiable, especially depending on which wheels and tires you want, but the price also is very fair compared to similar cars on the market (which are very hard to find). I have about $40k invested in mods total, and after extensively modding about 20 cars in my life, I know you don't get the money back you put in, but I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect about 20-25% of what I spent on the mods back. Here's your opportunity to own a super fast car that can run with sport bikes and basically slaughters any other car I meet on the street. On the track on its slicks, it runs the same lap times as modded 997 GT3RS cars, so you know it's more than just a car with a lot of power, but it also handles and brakes extremely well.
