Features a factory 4.2L Twin Turbo V8 engine and an Automatic 5 speed transmission. The vehicle has had many tasteful and expensive upgrades performed on it all of which are elaborated upon further in this post. The car has all of the original factory features including All Wheel Drive Quattro, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Power Locks/Windows, Rear Window Shades, Power Seats, Heated Seats, ABS, All-Around Airbags, etc.
I purchased this car in October of 2014 from the 5th owner on impulse…I ran across it on German Auto Blog and it was less than an hour from me – that said, I had to check it out… The car has a CLEAN history and a CLEAR title in my name (no liens). The vehicle has NEVER been in any sort of accidents/fender benders. Since the purchase --- at 77K miles I have only put on ~ about 15K miles in the ~7 years of ownership as this was always my 3rd or 4th vehicle throughout this timeframe. The car has lived in a garage its whole life. Under my ownership as well as prior ownerships. Maintenance and upgrades have been completed on this vehicle with an open checkbook. Moreover, up through the beginning of my ownership the car was covered by Fidelity Platinum Warranty as well.
Upgrades:
- Stasis Ohlin Suspension. These are some of the best coilovers money can buy. The handling and ride quality is superb. The units are fully adjustable for height/compression/rebound. The front units feature remote mount reservoirs. The coilovers were nearly $6K brand new. I had them completely rebuilt in July of 2015 by Performance Shock Inc at Sonoma Raceway in CA to a tune of nearly $1,500.00 with all new seals, hoses, fluid, spanners, etc. Print outs of velocity and force dyno are in documentation. Original installation work completed by Solo Motorsports in GA circa 2012.
- 034 Motorsports Upper Control Arms were installed as well to allow for the ability to dial in the most appropriate camber. The control arms were rebuilt within the last few years (within the past 5K miles at most) with new pivot *****, dust boots, hardware, etc. At the same time – all the other suspension control arms, tie rods, etc. were replaced as well with new OEM equipment. At this time the car was also corner balanced by At Speed Motorsports in Hanover MD.
- Hotchkiss Sway Bars – Front and Rear. The bushings were replaced at time of the aforementioned suspension replacement as well.
- REVO Stage 2 Tune – which incorporated coding for precats being gutted and coded out. Catalytic Converters were carefully gutted and welded back together at the time the first engine drop occurred. More on that later, however. Installation work of the REVO Stage 2 tune was done by Solo Motorsports in GA as well circa 2012. The car does NOT have any check engine lights. Moreover, it just passed emissions on 6/10/2021.
- MTM Torque Converter – as many know – the torque converters and transmissions on these vehicles are a pretty sore subject. The upgraded torque converter and the overall transmission on this car have never missed a beat. Moreover, the TCU is chipped as well. The sport mode provides for very precise shifting and holds the gears/provides for a nice downshift feel as well. Unfortunately, I do NOT have any documentation on the MTM converter nor the type of the TCU chip that the car has. This was, however, one of the selling points of this car going back to when I purchased it and considering the documentation levels on this car – I am 99.9% confident that the information is true on both items. The vehicle does NOT shift like a typical RS6 in sport mode.
- Full Milltek Exhaust with non-resonated center sections and black optics package rear RS6 tips. Just the right amount of grunt and comfort. Originally, the car had resonated center sections – however, I replaced them with non-resonated units for some more performance and sound.
- Apikol Rear Differential Mount and Carrier Bushings installed within the past 5K miles.
- Apikol Engine Mounts with the connector to override the electronic monitoring installed within the past 5K miles during the most recent engine out service.
- Apikol Transmission Mount installed within the past 5K miles during the most recent engine out service.
- Apikol Air Intake Seals installed within the past 100 miles (and the K&N air intake filters were cleaned/re-lubed).
- 034 Motorsports Snub Mount installed within the past 5K miles during the most recent engine out service.
- Silly Rabbit Motorsports Intercoolers installed within the past 5K miles during the most recent engine out service.
- Stratmosphere Diverter Valves rebuilt within the past 5K miles during the most recent engine out service.
- LED tail lights
- Silicone intercooler hoses
- Deleted secondary radiators as the units are known to result in heat soak due to their mounting provisions on the intercoolers. All the deleted equipment still available and will be included along with the car. Modification performed within the past 5K miles during the most recent engine out service.
- RSN-e head unit with silver ***** (I believe this was the 2nd generation of the RSN-e). Comes with all factory books as well. If I recall correctly --- it came out of a B7 RS4. Has an iPod hook up cable. Radio works as well; and, moreover seems as the car has some unlimited version of Sirius XM. The subscription never expired within the 7 years I had it! Never paid a dime for it.
- RED TOP battery, relocated to one of the side trunk compartments. The trunk has a revised liner and right panel installed to appropriately delete the factory battery box mounting provisions. You would never know the battery was relocated. Battery replaced in May of last year. Relocation done appropriately and battery wires insulated correctly.
- Nano-Ceramic Llumar Formula One Window Tint. I recall that when it was installed it was installed as an MD/VA/DC legal tint. The windshield, however, is also tinted as well. It cuts down on the night glare and is very very light. It is merely visible to anyone. The tint was exceptionally expensive and comes with a national warranty included. Considering I have very sensitive eyes --- this tint has been a lifesaver. The sunroof panel is tinted as well for some additional comfort
- K&N Drop In Air Filters installed within the past 5K miles during the most recent engine out service.
- Powdercoated Y-pipe and Valve Covers completed/installed within the past 5K miles during the most recent engine out service.
- LED Interior (and license plate) lighting

Along with this documentation a multitude of oil changes have been performed… receipts, etc. for such are included.
To those that have not driven an RS6 before - - - it’s a refined, conservative, “raw” sedan. It’s very unique and is one of my preferred chassis. It defines the Audi heritage very well in performance terms vs. the new, over-computerized S and RS series.
Flaws:
1. Headliner is sagging a bit in the rear (usual issue with these vehicles). I had planned on removing it and taking it to Ranken in Airpark MD to have them re-glue the entire headliner over. My friend has received a quote for his e46 330i to complete an alcantara replacement on his and that was $600. I figure $300-400 should get this re-glue done.
2. A couple of scratches here and there… some rash on the windshield as would be expected for an 18 year old car.
3. Some “rubberized” finish from buttons, handles, etc. is peeling in some places – as usual for these cars
Some other notes:
1. The underbelly pan is removed. I removed it at the time of the last oil change to perform the Sportec Lower Air Vent Mod (RS600): http://motorsports.chrismore.com/201...ification.html
I have not, however, had time to complete this. I have purchased all material and such will be included in the sale.
2. Rubber floor mats are included for front and rear (new). Comes with new stone guards (clear shield) for rear quarters that was never installed. Revo software tuner, original secondary radiators, and other parts as shown in the picture. Two keys, a valet key, and all documentation/original manuals, etc. are included.
3. The instrument cluster is not missing pixels. Only very slightly faded (when extremely hot outside)
4. Wheels have been refinished/re-powdercoated however – do have some scratches on a few at this time.
5. Brakes are pretty much new. I do not show paperwork for when the front and rear rotors were replaced again – however, I believe within the last 1-2K miles.
6. PPI’s are welcomed!
I am selling because I have purchased a 2001 996 911 Turbo with lots of goodies and while I drove this car ~2K miles per year throughout my ownership – at this point it will simply sit and it does not make sense to keep it. I would like to reclaim the garage space that the RS occupies for my daily driver and cannot justify keeping this car outdoors.
HAS BEEN LISTED ON P CAR MARKETPLACE AS OF 7/16/2021. I am sure you can find something cheaper. You may even be able to find something for $10K with 150K miles and no service records – however, best wishes in maintaining it, paying for engine out services, etc. This car is ready to go. I would drive it anywhere without any hesitation. It is fully documented and gone through several times. I truly believe it is one of the BEST examples of a c5 RS6 out there.
I intend on keeping it here for a few weeks as well as some other local forums/threads/craigslist and, likely listing on Bring A Trailer if I am unable to generate any serious interest shortly thereafter.
Any questions – please do ask!

As an original RS6 purchaser and (still) owner, I have to say the RS6 is one of the best all-round cars I've ever owned. Lots of work went into keeping this car maintained and upgraded as well as this listing. Kudos.
Just curious, who did the servicing for you? Always good to have a rolodex of qualified techs! Thanks, and GLWS.

Had an apartment building in philly and every once in awhile I’d see these race porsches leaving some shady back alley. Nice ones too.
So one day I decide to investigate and see this dirty looking shop and inside is all beautiful german cars. I see behind the building he’s got a pair of rs6’s. I go check them out, and they are both manual! Apparently the shop owner daily drives them.
So just incase anyone is interested, woodlawn garage in Philly does rs6 manual conversions.

I have had both the DRC and Torque Converter failures.
I'm riding on the DRC (Mk. II) replacement from Audi, which rides strangely to me (lots of rear bounce and a weird low-front & high-rear stance). It is NOT confidence inspiring. I'd honestly be very interested in comparing rides with you, at some point, if you keep it. I was looking at the KW v3 set-up, which my shop can easily do. The Stasis/Ohlins package was $$$ and is NLA, anyway, AFAIK. Trick, though. I've worked with Penske on our race cars, previously, and I thought I might go that route, but even more $$$$$.
The general consensus was that the DRC, when working properly was the best set-up "mix" (comfortable enough for the street, but firm enough for performance), but it's a real challenge to get it right, apparently. And, given the fact that you need a special bleed tool, Indy shops just don't have them. Techs at Audi dealers probably don't see many of these and wouldn't know what to do with the tool if they ever did.
The TC failure ended up with a rebuilt unit, and it's been knock on wood, since. BUT, it still doesn't drive like it did before the TC failure. Nothing wrong with it. I've not done an ECU or TCU upgrade, btw, but am considering Nubcake's ECU tune.
For anyone interested in this car (and I'm sure those who are will do their homework), these are the two BIG fails. Once addressed, these cars seem to be solid, but they are getting older. Just small stuff you have to live with when you're talking an almost 20 year old car.

Amazed at how current it looks.
I Googled and was shocked at how fast it was especially for its age. 0-60 in mid 4's?? Any idea what the tune does?
If my OCD wasn't in full effect I would love to have one.
What a reasonable price to get into a specialty car market and keep the family happy!!
