According to the manufacturer’s placard shown in the main gallery, this 25th Anniversary Corvette was produced in December 1977 and was optioned with the desirable L82-code 350ci V8 engine. The selling dealer acquired this Corvette in May 2022 and commissioned a respray in the factory two-tone color scheme of silver over grey. Desirable features include the 4-speed manual transmission and red leather interior. The owner’s manual and an assembly manual are included.The C3-chassis Corvette was launched in 1968 and was also known as the Corvette Stingray until 1976. 1978 was the Corvette’s 25th anniversary and saw numerous changes, the biggest of which was a “fastback” style rear window. Improvements included better aerodynamics, increased luggage capacity, and better rearward visibility. Metric tires were offered as standard equipment along with a larger 24-gallon fuel tank. Road & Track magazine reportedly recorded a 0-60 mph time of 6.6 seconds and achieved a 127 mph top speed with an L82 V8 engine equipped 1978 Corvette.
