1999 Boxster Guards Red/black, $15.9k
After years of love and companionship, it’s come time for my Boxster and me to part ways. I have truly loved this car for the sweet song it sings at full throttle above 5000 rpm, for its nimble road feel, for its confidence-inspiring stability when pushed hard, and for its two happy trunks that provide surprising utility.
I’ve had very few problems during my ownership. When I first purchased it, the dealership spent a few visits tracking down a vacuum leak, which was causing a check engine light. Recently, I replaced the alternator due to a bearing whine, and replaced the battery over the winter. The tires have roughly half their life left, so replacement shouldn’t be a concern for some time. Otherwise, it’s been trouble-free ownership filled with joy and celebration. Okay, that might be a bit over the top, but I really haven’t had many issues.
As for the aesthetics, the car is in great condition. There are very few rock chips on the front, and a couple scattered here & there as you’d expect for a car that’s been around the block a few times. I meticulously maintain the car, always performing timely oil changes and adhering to Porsche's recommended scheduled maintenance. I have all records since my ownership at ~44k miles, and all tools and manuals come with the car. Details are found below:
