For Sale: Jaguar XJ220S
I'm posting this for a friend. My buddy's cousin who owns 2 Jaguar XJ220S models is entertaining offers for either 1 of his cars. 1 is black and the other is Lamborghini titanium I believe. If you're serious and have the type of money to put up a reasonable offer, PM me and I'll send you pics and info on both cars and put you in contact with the owner. Cars located in southern CA and registered for road use.

1/2 million + is way overpriced IMHO. Newport Motorsport has a blue one for sale for 219,000 and its street legal. Check Dupont. My friend has one as well as the xj-12 ? race car. Both are BAD ***!!! But that does seem a little out of line with current market value...

Is it an XJ220S, or standard XJ220? The S models were converted with body, engine and suspension modifications by TWR, with the exception of an interior and small details they are identical to the cars that finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd at Le Mans but were later disqualified. There are only 5 S models in existence, 4 of them are here in southern CA and 1 is in europe. The black car used to be painted light blue and can be seen in its previous guise on supercars.net. The lamborghini titanium one used to be bright neon green (a hideous color).
These cars most probably won't go into the hands of an enthusiast who's going to drive them, they're likely to fall into a collector's hands who wants something unique and rare.
If it was a standard XJ220 model then I would agree with you, but I don't think $500K is out of line for these particular examples.

Is this the "gutted" out model with just the driver seat, fire extinguisher and bare metal interior. If its is then there must be 3 in SOCAL and the one in Baltimore, the one I looked at today at lunch and almost everyweek.

That is definately not an S, compare it with the pictures on kinesis' website and you'll see the S has a different front air-dam and substantial rear spoiler. No, these cars aren't "gutted out", they have full interiors with harnesses.

imho the S is actually much uglier than the regular model. it is a HUGE car. however it is still gorgeous and they really are super rare. I am not surprised to see a 500k price tag. How do you put a market value on something when there are 5 in existence and they never come up for sale.
