Thats plan B I don't have a spare switch position on the dash, just in the center console, I was hoping to get it done with one remote to take up less space than with two.. It looks like a Clicker CLT1 universal remote might do the job, I am just awaiting a reply from them to see if the conflicting statements of their sales blurb and programming instructions really mean you can program buttons with codes from different manufactures (garage vs gate) on the one device (like a homelink), this should be doable but they have you set dipswitches in the remote to select the manufacturer type, so not 100% sure on that... With one being a rolling code and the other a single code I think it might work..

Picture as requested, please bear in mind someone has dibs already so it may be sold. As discussed earlier it is a Targa switch (that looks like a garage door) soldered to a Genie rolling code remote. You program it to your opener in the standard way, clip the switch in to the dash or console then tuck the remote behind the console. Once installed the switch rocks left or right to activate up to two separate doors.

On homelink its simple, you can program either type (rolling code and non-rolling code) in, but on the remotes that came with the garage door opener they will frustratingly only program buttons with the rolling codes, not the gate-opener.. I am wanting to find a hand held remote that does both then wire it in to a Targa switch.. The other option is putting a homelink rearview mirror in the car but that is not plug and play...
You can open your gate and garage door on one Targa Rocker switch. I did that for Sharky. Click one way to open Gate, click the other way to open garage.

An even easier way is if your community gate isn't close to your house. You can combine the remotes on the switch.

Unfortunatly the 3 button remote that comes with a Craftsman Security+ garage opener (this is a 315) can only be programmed for other Security+ codes, not the type that the security gate uses.. I am going to see if I can find one of the Clicker universal remotes to try out, its main problem though is it is not exactly compact, wont be so hard to hide in the center console..

I ran the wire and hid my remote behind the glove box/center stack. Makes it much easier to change the battery in 5yrs when it dies.

The one at the side of me says 996.613.119.10 A05, bear in mind it only comes in the matt finish, asaik the targa switch was never made in the gloss finish.
