FS: Porsche Garage Door Opener

This is a custom made garage door opener, the switch is the targa roof switch that looks just like a garage door and snaps right in to the standard dash slots. The remote is a Genie rolling code garage door opener, it is set up to control two doors, the two positions for the rocker switch each operate one door. Snaps right in to the dash for an integrated convenient installation.

Includes the switch, wiring and Genie garage door opener, should fit most Porsche models. The switch is the matt finish rather than gloss.

Rennlist garage shows you how to make one with your existing opener

all you need to do is buy the targa switch.

All you need to do is buy a targa switch, get the garage door opener and solder them together, or you can have mine fully assembled and ready to snap in.

I'll post pics as soon as I get home on Thursday although it may be spoken for already.

Does anyone know of an opener that can do the rolling code like a Genie and a security gate one? The security gate one is not a rolling code as it was a point and shoot type to program in my wifes rearview mirror homelink setup..

Sorry for the hijack!

What is being discussed here and on Renntech isn't an opener as such, it is the targa roof switch that basically provides two momentary switches, looks like a garage door opener and slots right in to the dash. This is then soldered to your remote to replicate the switches. You then just tuck your existing opener in behind the dash and operate it using the dash switch for a more integrated look.

All I'm listing here is the one I made up for my car before I sold it so it is the switch and Genie opener alread soldered together.

ukchris,

yes, I realize that, and sorry for the hijack again... I have been wanting to make up a targa switch opener since buying my car a few weeks back (why isn't homelink standard???!!!), but I live in a gated comunity and have the garage door to open. On homelink its simple, you can program either type (rolling code and non-rolling code) in, but on the remotes that came with the garage door opener they will frustratingly only program buttons with the rolling codes, not the gate-opener.. I am wanting to find a hand held remote that does both then wire it in to a Targa switch.. The other option is putting a homelink rearview mirror in the car but that is not plug and play...

So at the moment you have to carry two remotes? Why not just wire one to the left rocker and one to the right and tuck both in behind the dash? Then you just press "left" on the switch to open the gate and "right" for the garage door? I've soldered one up like this for another member here and it worked fine.
