Well I never installed these yet and really did not need the bigger top end power for my driving style. I am going to a K16/16g setup with a quicker spool up. DO YOU GUYS THINK I AM MAKING A BIG MISTAKE??? Mike

I overlaid my dyno plot with the dyno plot of a K24/18g car. They were identical, but mine spooled 500rpm sooner. With a fueling kit is a different story, but if you intend to run 93 octane and don't intend to do new injectors and fuel pumps, the K16/16gs will make similar power and spool much sooner.

I have raced against identical 996 TT's, both w/ intake, exhuast and chip. One had K24's, 2 others had K16. The difference is a full 3-4 lengths every time from 60-130. I have replicated this test at least a dozen times.

It depends on how you drive your car and if you intend on using a EBC. Without a doubt the K24/18G setup will be more flexible and allow you to go all the way up to 700+HP levels. If speed is your thing then K24/18G's are what you will probably end up with. The K16/16G package is a very nice upgrade as well just limited in how far you can take them at the end of the day. Yes the K16 hybrid will look similar to a K24/18 "600" package but once you install actuators and EBC it will be a world of difference. I personally had my car at the 600 and currently "650" level and now that I have had both setups.. I would not even think of doing the K24/18's with out EBC. It makes for a totally different driving car. I vote for you to keep your K24/18's... you can never have too much power!

Mike,

I agree with what str8blst has stated above...He sums it up perfectly. I think there is way too much fear of larger turbos and I understand it because I once had the same fears myself, but gambled on it. I'm glad I tried them because I no longer fear larger turbos, but actually embrace the idea. Once you experience the pull of a larger turbo, there is no going back - at least for me. And I do not have any more lag than with my previous K16/24's, but a lot more power everywhere.

I completely agree with John and Alan. If you want more than 600 crank hp, these are not the turbos for you. If you don't, however, K16/16gs provide about as fast a spool and as linear a curve as you can get.

Hey Alan, HLY picks up his car on Sat... when are we hitting the MAHA? We have to hustle, I'm getting married the week after so time will be at a premium and then I'm gone for a month.

Congrats Man all the best to you and your new wife!!!!
We can really go anytime to Dyno. I get my car back on Mon or Tues. We were thinking of doing a Dyno pulls and dinner type thing. So if you are down maybe we can set up for a day next week I can't wait to get a ride in your car. I'm sure it's very fast Tony does nice work!

I wish... My car is at the body shop having the front bumper resprayed so I can clear bra in the spring. A couple other minor cosmetic upgrades too. I may do the fuel and intake in the fall but for now I just want to get some more seat time and enjoy the car. I can't wait until winter is over.
