FS: GT3 wing / deck for 996 NB cars, repro
Ok so I made the tough call to sell my pcar within the next month. I'm going to go for a 997S or 996TT.
Given this, I am not going to paint and install my new GT3 wing. Will sell for $700 + ship. This is a FG repro part that I purchased from a new Switzerland mfr. and the quality is pretty darn good.
However, there are a couple of hairline stress cracks on the driver's side wing tower along the base of the deck where it meets the tower. This is nothing major, it just needs to be sanded out and re-glassed around the area. My body shop was going to charge me $600 for everything paint / prep.
As you can see from pics I have already test fitted it on my car and it's great. A GT3 wiring harness or modification of stock wiring harness is needed to stop the check wing error, and you'll need to transfer over the intake boot and fan. The intake and fan location / underside of decklid is exact same fitment for all 996 NB cars except GT3, so no worries there!!
Prep and paint should run $500-$600. From what I have been told prep will cost more if you have a dark car because the surfaces have to be more perfect prior to paint than with light colors.
Local pickup in SoCal / LA area is preferred- I have the box and packing to ship it in but I hate shipping FG parts. Weight of box with parts is about 40+ lbs. and I will only ship within USA via insured Fedex.
Paypal add 3%.
PM me if you want it-

Well I think you've got your priorities striaght... lol... suspension upgrade will add greatly to daily driving pleasure. I'd only recommend KWv3's over the PSS9, but of course they do cost more. Awesome coilovers though.
Post pics when you get the new suspension on!

Oh don't worry, you're not getting rid of me that easily..
Looking for a 997s or 996TT, I'm keeping my new exhaust and putting on my next pcar! Only a slight modification to the muffler exit pipe is required to fit 997, and AfterHours will do the work for me if I end up with a 997.
Now if I get a 996TT... well I guess I'll have to sell them..

get a tt
drove a flashed one yesterday for 150 miles and all I can say is "wow"
blew my mind, feels like ours until the turbos kick in and the most incredible rush smacks you right in the face
Amazing, thinking of changing myself

c2mojo- yeah, I know- It's really a tough choice. I like the TT and I also like the new style of the 997. It may just come down to which "best deal" I come across first.
jmla- we'll see. I'm not entirely opposed to getting another Tip since this is my DD in good 'ol LA traffic, and there are some distinct driving advantages to the Tip. If the pcar were my "weekend driver" it would be a no-brainer on stick.
I'm scratching my head though why Porsche put a 5-speed Tip in the 996/997 and a 6-speed Tip in the Cayenne. Makes absolutely no sense to me as the 996/997 would benefit greatly from a 6-speed whereas it makes little difference in an SUV.

Kurt, I think you make the right choice of selling yours for a new 997 or 996TT. 996TT is more for me, price is dropping and more great mods. can be had. You will love the Turbo kick. That's my 2 cents!
