996, 997 oil pan cover with baffles

Bought this new from Suncoast and don't need it. Its an OEM oil pan cover with baffles designed to prevent oil starvation in the wet sump motors during spirited driving. Its a direct bolt on for a 996 and can be used on a 997 with slight modification to the baffle height.

I bought it thinking that my 997S would benefit, not realizing it comes with the baffled pan cover from the factory.

$100

So is this the X51 oil pan that Suncoast sells? Are you saying that your 997S already has the baffles with the metal doors?

Yes its the X51 pan on their website. Yes, the 997S already has baffles with doors, don't recall if they are metal or not.

That's what I thought. The 997 does not have a baffle system as large for containment as the X51 based system.

As far as I can tell all of the cars have the same plastic not too big baffles with plastic doors from factory. I have personally touched the baffle from a 996 3.4, 3.6 and 997 3.8 and none come close to the x51 metal system.

I too heard the rumors that the 997S had the updated baffles and no longer needed the x51. So I ordered the 997S baffles and received a part that had a new 997 part # but looks the same as what was already in my 996 3.6 engine.

My point is that you likely can still benefit from the x51 pan that you purchased.

I'll take it since my 3.4 99 does show signs of oil sloshing.

PM me payment details please.
