Hey guys, I have a climate control module from my '02 turbo for sale. The LCD on the right panel has leaked (as you can see in the picture) but the module functions perfectly. I have seen a couple of threads (on here or renntech, I forget where...) in which people have replaced the LCD pretty easily--I just replaced the entire unit and figured I'd sell this one for someone who wants a cheap one.

sorry to threadjack, but it looks like you may be able to help. Can you tell if the faceplate pops off easily, in case someone wanted to paint it? (But leave the buttons black.) Thanks. Free bump to the top.

 

You can get it off, just not "easily." There are three screws holding the entire assembly together...once you get the front off, there are several tiny screws holding the circuits in place to the face plate--if you get all those out, it looks like you can separate the face plate. Not too difficult, just not an easy snap-off
