Actually there was a supreme court ruling allowing this and it is not "Price Fixing". It is protecting product and price integrity. In this industry, we call it Minimum Advertised Price, or MAP. This weeds out the bedroom internet shops that end up taking your money and not delivering. This allows companies to stay in business. I am sure most of you are successful, would you take a 50% pay cut? You can read more about MAP here - http://ezinearticles.com/?Supreme-Co...-MAP&id=627990

It is actually a form of price fixing. A company can choose not to sell through certain retailers so the the "bedroom internet shops" argument is a red herring. What HRE is doing is telling its retailers what they can charge for the wheels. If that isn't price fixing, what is? Like I said, it has been challenged in court.

Also don't understand your analogy to taking a 50% pay cut? Why can't an authorized retailer choose what margin it wants to make on a product without the manufacturer dictating it? This is America man- free markets.
