Is it the slight whinning noise coming from the engine compartment slightly on the gas @ 3K rpm?

Double check that the noise is coming from the reservoir instead of the serpentine belt tensioner. My tech misdiagnosed this and changing the reservoir didn't eliminate the noise. The tensioner is right below the reservoir and all of the stuff in the way disguises the sound from the tensioner. The tensioner is cheap compared to the reservoir.

I just had the ps pump changed and noise is still present. Mine goes away when I engage the clutch or brakes which is weird? The wine noise goes away when either clutch or brake are engaged. Can it be the tensioner?

That's the reservoir. There's a TSB out there...

The tensioner noise is rpm related and usually you can only hear it at lower rpm before the sound of the exhaust at higher rpm's drowns it out.

I'm thinking it's the reservoir but why tapping the brakes makes it go away? clutch I understand.

A little more investigation and I think my whine is a tensioner pulley...

I'm basing this on the following:

- stepping on the clutch does NOT make the whine go away

- increasing RPMs make the pitch of the whine change
