WTB: My Ferrari 360 got totaled this weekend and I need some help

I bought the car in October and spent over $15,000 in mods. Just when I thought I had it exactly as I wanted, I hit a deer on Interstate 70 and spun out and hit a railing. I am glad I came out of it without a scratch, but I am crying on the inside.

I bought my 360 in October and have spent over $15,000 modifying it. This weekend, I hit a deer and crashed into a railing and the car is a total loss. The car is currently at the tow yard until Friday, when the insurance company is going to take possession of the car.

I have a ton of really nice mods. I will be taking out most of it and replacing it with my stock parts during the next few days. However, there are three really nice mods that I do not have the stock parts for. The payment from the insurance company is going to be based on the year, make and model, and I will not get any extra money for these mods. It would be such a waste if the insurance company gets a hold of these mods. I need to either part these out or find replacement stock parts for these so that I can pull them out and keep them. The only issue is that I need to do this before this Friday, May 27. The car is currently located in Ellicott City, MD.

(1) DCT Motorsports Steering Wheel
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/f...ing-wheel.html
These are pics of the actual wheel installed in my car. I put less than 300 miles on the car since I installed this. It is perfect, brand new. The part cost me over $2,300. I need to either buy a stock steering wheel from someone in the area, or I can arrange for a trade plus $1,200. I am willing to drive a couple of hours to pick up a steering wheel. I really don't care about the condition of your steering wheel. I can do the removal and installation myself - it's very easy.

(2) Newly Recovered Seats
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/f...seats-com.html
These are pics of my actual seats. I put less than 300 miles on the car since I installed these seats. Top grade black Italian leather with Alcantara insert and red stitching. I paid over $2,800 to have these redone and waited about 4 months. Again, I can either buy your stock seats so that I can pull these out and keep them for my replacement 360, or I can arrange for a trade plus $1,800. I really do not care about the condition of your seats. I can do the removal and installation myself.

(3) 19/20" Iforged Rev Wheels with brand new Michelin Tires
These are Iforged Revs with black powdercoated middle with chrome (not polished) lips. They are three piece forged wheels. I just put brand new tires on them and the tires have less than 300 miles. The wheels are practically brand new and do not have a single flaw to them. Not one single scratch or stone chip. They were completely unaffected by the collision. This set cost me over $6,000. I will buy your stock wheels and tires from you for a reasonable price (I do not care about condition) or we can do a trade for $2,500.

Please call me at (202) 320 6065 (cell) or (410) 772 2324 (office). This has to be done before Friday because the insurance company is taking possession of the car.
Thanks for looking.

Im sorry about your loss. I know the feeling of loosing a car that you love. I might have a simple idea for you in regards to the wheels if you come up with nothing.

Go to your local Pepboys, NTB, etc. and buy a set of cheap but flashy chrome rims, and a set of cheap tires or ask if they have a mix of old take offs that are bald that you could "purchase" (By law they are supposed to be disposed of properly, but a small shop or intelligent manager would see that they werent missed)

This would cost you between 700-1000 depending on the rims/tires and labor. If the insurance company asked, you could say that they were a gift or that you liked the tacky flash (hey, to each his own and as long as a set of rims and tires are on the car they really cant do anything about it.)

Good luck with the items, and I envy your opportunity to score another beautiful car. It's a buyers market.

Might have been better to pm your suggestion on how to defraud the insurance company rather than post it on a public forum...just saying....

It's actually not defrauding my insurance company. I am simply removing my personal items. This has happened to me before. When my insurance company told me that they would not be giving me any money for my mods, they said I was free to remove the mods as long as the stock parts were installed. Thanks for the concern though.

I would agree, and so would your insurance company if you were putting the stock items back on...when was the last time you purchased oem Ferrari parts at Pep Boys? Btw...it was just a suggestion not a criticism as we have many in law enforcement and the insurance biz that peruse this forum on a regular basis...I often wonder what the members who post their own street racing videos are thinking...

Chuck, I respect your comments and I realize the demands on you as a forum moderator, but as stated above it is not defrauding when personal items are taken off which the company wont cover. As long as a stock/or upgraded part is still there it is okay.

Yes, buying rims at Pepboys for a Ferrari.... Ive seen some pretty outrageous things on a car. (1965 Mustang raised and sitting on 24" Chrome spinners, and some outrageous Porsche customizations) A Ferrari with chromed or blacked out rims is just as bad, yes, but to each his own and it was a simple solution to the TIME CONSCIOUS problem with a limited budget in mind.

wheels on craigslist

I saw a silver 360 at Katie's on Saturday that sounds a lot like your description with the black I-Forged wheels... If that was you, sorry to hear about the accident. Glad to hear you are ok.

Here's a local ad I saw on craigslist for some 360 wheels:

You might be able to strike up a deal if they are still available. Hope this helps.

Can you not retain the totaled car? Might be worth selling it yourself.

I'll disagree with chuck on the defrauding... provided they evaluate the car after you replace whatever parts you replace, you have no obligation for maintaining you car in any particular conditions (ie stock parts of cheap crap rims)- they set the value for the car. If they've stated 'we don't car what parts you put on the car, we simply pay based on year make and model, who are you to argue?

Sorry to hear

A
