WTB X51 Oil pan

Porsche will not sell the X51 directly to the public. The dealership told me that I have to have a VIN# to a factory X51 vehicle before the motherland will ship the oil pan to the dealership.

Therefore I need to buy an oil pan from a fellow member or I need a VIN# for a factory X51 996/997

Thanks

Ubermensch is infamous around these parts
I was going to send you a link to Suncoast where I bought my pan a few months ago. Apparently it's no longer on their site. Sunset also quoted me, so I'd give them a try.

I have contacted Suncoast, they do not have any in stock and will not be getting any either. It is my understanding that all Porsche dealerships in NA are out of stock of the X51 oil pan. When I contacted my local dealership, Boardwalk Porsche, they told me that they contacted Porsche (Germany) and the only way that Porsche (Germany) will release an X51 pan to a dealership here in the States is if they have a VIN for a car that had an X51 engine installed at the factory.

I have no idea why the change in attitude about the oil pan, the dealership doesn't understand the change in attitude either

I am sure you will find someone who will let you borrow their VIN on this site... have you posted in the 997 section?

Try LN Engineering. They also have a sump extension to fit the M96/97 motor, serves the same purpose.
