996 Turbo Aerokit deck

Category: Accessories
Price: $1600
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits: Porsche 911 996 Turbo
Location (State): NC
Item Condition: Used
Shipping Information: Item can be shipped

SOLD. 996 Turbo Aerokit decklid. Seal Grey. Perfect condition. Does not include 3rd brake light or latch. These are easily swapped over from your existing decklid. Includes "TURBO" emblem as shown. Installation for the entire deck is 30 minutes tops. Fitment is very good.

I can't confirm this is a factory decklid. I inquired on this forum awhile back and no one really knew, though I've never seen anyone else making copies like the GT2s, etc. so I assume it is factory. Stamp on inside of deck (pictured): (edit: confirmed as factory below)

996.512.221.00
EP/UP GF 25
Made in Switzerland

From the markings, this is the factory original part.

Does anyone know if this fits a cab? Buddy with a seal gray cab may be interested.

Thanks for confirming. The "Made in Switzerland" threw me a bit.

I was just working on my non-Aerokit 996TT rear decklid yesterday and also noticed a "Made in Switzerland" stamp. So, it seems that all Turbo decklids were made in Switzerland (not sure about base Carrera or GT3/GT2)?

Very interest in decklid. How would you propose shipping it?

I will check into that. I think it's too big for UPS, so likely it will go freight. I would wrap in tons of bubble wrap and build a wooden pallet'frame around it for secure shipment.

I'm thinking the Porsche engineers probably worked out that both would be sufficient to handle the upper limits of the car. I never exceeded 160 mph with either the GT2 or aero, so I don't think the issue presented itself.

I'm guessing there is an expert on this forum that has real information though.
