ERP/RPS Triple Carbon Clutch Review/Install Pics
#77
A very good friend of mine bought and had this same clutch installed along with a GT2 mod just about 2 months ago. His experience pretty much mirrors yours from what I gather talking to him. He likes it at the race track but I think he's of the opinion the clutch pretty much takes the fun out of driving the car on the street.
For the race guys it probably still is one of the best you can get.

Kidding aside: nice if this works, but almost every single statement about this clutch has been proven wrong here with my sample (noise level, chatter, engament, smoothness, judder). I start believing again when I ride a car that has all this fixed.
A guy here is testing a Clutchmaster 850 currently. Rattles like a Ducati in neutral on idle, but everything else is like stock. I don't know how much Nm it really holds, but it is no nightmare to start with. He will test it soon on the dyno.

So there is probably a fix for a problem that doesn't exist? Cool.

Anything is possible, but I doubt it. I will check the clutch when I pickup the car next week and check for bent parts and evenness of the plates.
When I bought the clutch it was still some months before the engine build, so I put it aside. Shortly before the installation I asked ERP if this clutch is going to hold the torque I expect because I got notification to verify what I got.
They looked at the internals and decided to exchange them - just in case. Free of charge - a great service.
We took apart the "old" clutch parts and put them on the desk in their order and put the new parts back in. No mistake there. Installation in order of what we got delivered. No mistake there.
The new parts have a stronger power tansmission part - not sure what the correct english term is. It is beefier, rounded. See attached pictures.

The ERP clutch is out and I have new one in:
Drives like OEM, has a mid pedal engagement point, smooth as it can be. It is proven to hold 1200 Nm (885 ft lb) and good for 1400 Nm (1032 ft lb).
I will tell you what it is when my car was on the dyno and when I have some real figures to show.
I can move the car in traffic without thinking about it. Even with idle rev a 10 out of 10.
Chatter is there as well, because it has a LWFW as well, but it is much less than with the ERP.
I will now check the ERP clutch for damages or bent parts. Have sent the carbonclutch.com guys an email with my complaints and a link to this thread. No reply yet. We will see how that one will end.

Well with the nearly daily if not more updates of bashing the product there is no updates about if it was damaged or not.

I repeated my request and put ERP in CC and I they are asking me to send the clutch for looking over it. The clutch will be sent to them now and you will get your answer.
I have nothing to hide. Finally it is my money that was spent and I didn't get what you and others got. In addition to that I find it interesting that I am not alone with my experience. Are these damaged clutches and wrong installs, too?
