Up for sale is a Dark Grey Alacantara Steering Wheel that came out of a 2005 997.1 C2S I just purchased for my wife, but it should fit any 997.1 or 987.1 car with the Triangular Airbag configuration (Airbag not included). My wife preferred the look of the original black leather wheel that also came with the car, so that one is back installed and we're selling the alcantara one. One of the photos shows it installed in the car, which has a black leather interior - and to me this wheel looks a little lighter, so I'm calling it dark grey, as it's not as black as the rest of the interior.

It's in like new condition - no spots, stains, wear areas, stitching is perfect, etc and as you can see from the photos, it's the full alcantara version, where even the wheel hub is alcantara, not just the wheel ring. The wheel is thicker than the leather sport wheel from a C2S and feels great in the hands.

This one is priced $200-$400 less than I've seen similar new wheels and includes insured & trackable UPS Ground shipping at the listed price.

Is this thicker than the stock wheel? My 2009 C2 has what is, to me, an absurdly skinny steering wheel. I have alcantara GT3 seats so this would be a good match. Any pics comparing it to the stock wheel?

 

Yes, this one is thicker. I just measured a stock C2S leather wheel and the alcantara wheel with my digital caliper and the stock wheel rim has a 30mm diameter vs. the 34mm diameter rim of the wheel I have for sale, so from a circumference standpoint as you grip the rim of the wheel, the stock wheel has a 94.25mm rim circumference vs. the alcantara's 107mm rim circumference, so the alcantara wheel is about 14% larger. I can tell you that it feels nice and "beefy" in your hands.

how come your "in car" picture shows a wheel with multi-fonction buttons and other picture is the no buttons version?

 

The car came from Porsche with a multi-function leather steering wheel. The previous owner moved the multi-function buttons over to the alcantara wheel when he installed it into the car and I moved them back to the leather wheel when I put that back into the car. The multi-function capability buttons are not part of this wheel sale, however, if you currently have a multi-function wheel, you can move those buttons to the alcantara wheel to preserve that functionality. Hope that clears it up.
