I had the X51 OilPan on the car for just 2 track days before I sold the car. It is spotless, with no residue or oil film. Very minor scratches on the bottom (see pictures below)

It appears others have installed a 996 X51 Oil Pan on their 997. Though, I have never tried.

996 X51 oil pan on 997 3.6L M7 engine
