Buying a 05 continental GT, need some advise.

Good evening guys:

I am currently in the market for a continental Gt and come across this private buyer. Since it'll be all cash transaction, I want to get some opinions from some 6speed experts here. I am scheduled to fly and pick up the car this weekend. It's a 2005 Black exterior / Brown GT Mulliner edition all options comes with that edition wheels, stitching etc... with 27k miles, all services done with service record from the dealership. The car is scheduled to do a complete PPI tomorrow which will cost me about $550 at bentley dealership, the service guy told me he might able to get some free software upgrade for free not sure what he meant, he said something about ignition and air jet. The sale price is $73k, it might be a good idea to get the PPI done. Any suggestions? is this consider a smoking deal, ok deal, average or bad deal? The hood has been repainted due to prior rock chip but no accident nor any frame damage anywhere, rest are original paint throughout. Clean car fax and auto check report. 2 owners

Thank you guys in advance.
J. TX

J, seems like a good deal and if the dealer is offering a firmware upgrade at no cost then do it. Like all modern vehicles the factory releases updates to the on-board computer 'operating system' of the car from time to time to enhance reliability, fix bugs, etc. Please remember to post pics here once you get it.

I was thinking to offer $70 is that being unreasonable?

Offer 67 and then you both settle for 70 perhaps.

In my opinion, deal is ok, not great but not bad. If possible I would wait it out and look for a slightly newer model.

well the seller was very honest in my opinion about the car, he even told me about the paint touch up as well, later confirmed by the service manager at the dealership who happened to saw it when he dropped the car for service prior of fixing it and he told me if he didn't say anything, no one would've ever found out. Just as I was hesitating about putting a deposit down, another ebayer used buy it now price at $78k and ended the auction, it seems mulliner edition is pretty strong in the market. Since I booked the flight to see the car a week prior, the seller is willing to hold the car for me despite of few other serious prospects offering higher than mine and I think by offering 67k or $70k is out of the question for him especially he has buyer ready to buy at $78k. The dealership has already finished the 4 hour inspection waiting to talk to the service adviser tomorrow.

Service record show the last service was done on 12/2009 ( 4 year CP service) a $2100 service included Engine oil, filter, wiper, pollen filter, spark plug, element airclean, brake fluid, etc....

We wind up at $74k being in mulliner edition (20s, leather etc...) I think it's pretty decent offer considering the options. I've searched all the mulliner GT in the market and by far haven't found one even come close to that price with its conditions and mileage. Thanks for the opinion guys.
