CGT Battery

Have to say it lasted a while! About 5 years all said and done - got an Alternator - Visit Workshop Error - swapped the Varta battery $283.44 Dealer price - and Im back in action -

everyone said to just put a Delco or interstate for $100 but I just didnt have the heart!

Hmm... i assume the Varta is just like the Enersys/Odyssey type of battery
www.odysseybattery.com/batteries.html . If the varta is a battery like those, agree the price is well worth it plus normal $100 batteries have many problems and frankly are not that great imho as compared to the Enersys/Odyssey type. There are many advantages to the newer designs like the Enersys/Odyssey and once i started using them many years ago in the Ferrari it is the ONLY type of battery i get for both road and race cars.

Glad to hear you are back in action, drive it like you stole it

Yes, yet i think the OEM is like the Odyssey/Enersys type of battery cell. So that is a great choice!

It's not my car, thank god. You have to pull the engine, once you the engine is out then the passenger side manifold and turbo needs to be removed as well. After that, you can get to the starter.

Parts and labor is going to be around $4000.00 for this job, the dealer was quoting $9200.00. It's definitely not a fun job and I hope that you never have a started go bad in your car. There are a lot of reasons to pull the engine in this car though.

Correct Battery's for 08 CFS

Can anyone confirm that these would be the 2 proper batterys to replace my stock original batteries in 08 CFS.. I seem to have voltage issue, and random missfires. I also experiance no power intermitantly when pressing the gas pedal. I am dealing with a shop that service Rolls, Bentley, BMW, and Audi. They put the car on the computer and noticed voltage irregularities, including the gas peddle reading 15% at idle but this was internitant. They alos showed voltage at 11.x volts at idle which they say is low. They say it coulld just be that the battery is not putting out enough voltage when at load, meanng when *** warmer, iPhone connected playing tunes, heat, and the all important back massage is going.. (I love this car) No check engine light, no check battery, just loss fo power when pressing on gas peddle. They expected to see throttle sensor erros but there were none. They say replacing the batteries since they are 5 years old might resolve issue. I have read recommendations on this site about these batterys, and have no problem changing them just on GP. Could you guys just confirm that these are the correct batterys for the car.

Thanks

....On replacement Main Battery...I originally wanted to get Varta (made in Germany) Looked on Amazon found not presently available.... went to Audi/VW in San Francisco since thought there would be $ savings over Bentley parts...Audi, surprised me by saying to me they do not sell Varta, but us American made battery (brand eludes my memory) but it was like either Delco or Interstate...he said they put VW/Audi name on battery....I have used Sears Diehard over 30 years with satisfaction....The Diehard for $175 is exact fit (Don't forget the little vent tube in battery well, I almost did, the tube goes into top hole in Battery....a Dealer wanted $1000 for job....JimB
