The bump on my bumper

At some point when my Conti was in the shop, some lowlife scraped the rear bumper with another car leaving a horizontal mark which I buffed out.

But the bumper now has an slight dimple which can be seen when you move from side to side.

My hope is that being a plastic molded piece the bump might gradually 'heal' like some of the Mercedes bodywork does. We had an SLK which worked this way after a small collision on the bumper.

Am I being too optimistic here? It's been a week or so and nothing's happened.

some heating may help to smooth it out. a mobile body repair or dent removal guy can do it. you can use hair dryer or heat gun but don't over heat it.

I've just booked my dent guy who usually does a spectacular job, and he assures me that it's possible to correct plastic too. I'm feeling greatly encouraged, as I'm no expert with a hairdryer.
