Bentley V8: who wins who loses?

I'm curious to see what car will lose sales/value to the Bentley V8:

A) New W12: Will it scavenge sales from the W12 since the lease payments will be more attractive (at least per Bentleys estimate). In this case new W12 buyers might want to wait and have more negotiating power.

B) Used W12s: For cash buyers a used W12 will cost almost as much as the V8 so maybe they would prefer a newer car for the same $$. In this case used W12 buyers will win.

C) AM, MB, BMW, Jag: All sell high powered V8s with less cache than a B. Anyone want to buy a used AM?...

Any opinions?

any estimates on how much this car will cost? hard to speculate without knowing what the point of entry will be.

Current estimates are 136,000 Euro vs about 150,000 Euro for the W12 pre-tax and pre-options.

Unlike the W-12, the wood veneer is any you like as long as its Dark Fiddelback Eucalyptus (?)

For (C), I'm curious to know if owners jump ship between brands just because of price. I would never buy another brand simply because it was newer/cheaper.

Just hurts Bentley, V8 will sell close to sticker and W12 will have less of a demand and is already available at or lower than the price of the V8.

Just doesnt make sense to do at their price point, which is 10% less.

I fully agree. Though I really seem to like it, I think it will hurt Bentley as a whole. To me, a cheaper alternative is not good for the brand and it's exclusivity. A more fuel efficient one is, but they generally cost MORE, these days.

If it's substantially cheaper (under 200K USD) than the W12, I'll be disappointed.

Exclusivity and being a bit out of reach is what makes it a Bentley (and more desirable).

Maybe it's just me.

MB is still able to sell the CL550, CL600, CL63 and CL65 right?

Irrelevant. Cedric refers to MB selling the 1st car and I'm questioning whether they still sell the marginal or last car.
