Brooklands

I am considering buying a Brooklands and was wondering if you would be so kind as to share a little bit about your ownership experience? I have always loved the way this car looks but never had an opportunity to drive one. How is the ride? What are the positives and any negatives to this car? Thanks so much in advance!

The Brooklands is a phenomenal car. It is very smooth to drive and extremely comfortable but it will go like a rocket if you want to. I live in the city and found it extremely easy to maneuver in traffic and even it tight spots despite its gigantic proportions. The finishes and attention to details on this car are like no others it is the most luxurious car I have seen much more so than even the new Mulsane. Everything is leather wood or chrome.
The only thing you should be worried about are electrical problems especially battery drainage. My car was plagued with electrical gremlins all linked to excessive battery drainage and I was told by the service department at the Bentley dealership that it was a common problem on this car.
So before you buy one check the service record and stay away from cars that indicate that they had issues of this type.
Other than that it's wonderful and I miss mine. I will probably get another one in the future.
I hope this helps. Good luck in your search.

I had it for 8 months. I would have kept it but for the electrical gremlins that were driving me insane. Mechanically it was perfect and ran like a Swiss clock but the battery issues were causing lots of other problems like car not starting, AC not working, alarm ringing non stop... The battery was replaced 3 times the alternator as well but there was something inherently wrong with the car that made it impossible to fix after endless stay in the service department. The car still had 16 months of CPO when I sold it but I knew they would not be able to fix it and I was told so by service department who also said some cars had this kind of issues while others didn't. That's why I tell you check the service records and any electrical issues should be a red flag. Things like repeated battery checks or alternator checks are signs you will have problems with the car.
If the records do not show these kind of issues then jump on the car as it is otherwise rock solid even on tough NYC roads.

My car had the standard brakes which were more than sufficient. If there was one option I wished my car had it would be the Naim sound system, the standard system is great but the naim is just incredible.

I own a 2008 Arnage which is basically the 4 door version of the Brooklands and I have nothing but great things to say about the car.
No electrical problems what so ever. I own the car since last September and have driven it 6000 km. It truly is an event to drive. Nothing comes close.
The looks of the Arnage and Brooklands are timeless.
I bought the car from a used car dealer without warranty. I had the car checked over by Bentley Belgium and it got a clean bill of health.
The Brooklands (as the Arnage from 2007 on) comes with the re-engineered 6 3/4 liter and should show itself to be bullet proof.
