Unhappy rain causing leak...

Need help asap.

When it rains, water leaks into my 05 GT through the rear driver side window area.
Not sure exactly how, but it is likely that the sealant in the window frAme, above the chrome lining has some kind of hole or space.

As such, water comes in and I have been finding water pooling underneath the driver side bucket seat in the back. This is clearly a huge issue.

The other thing is that the water also has caused damage to the leather side and the moisture sitting within the leather paneling has caused a terrible odor.

If it is the seal on the outside, how can I DIY fix it? Would hate
to waste money at a body shop or worst,a dealership, just to seal up a small region.

Any product recommendations? Advice? Guidance? My first week of ownership has not been as thrilling as hoped for.

Take it to a self-serve power wash station and have someone sit inside the car to visualize things. You must find the area of the leak.

the leak is probably coming from the rear screen, left side top corner is where the wires go through for the third brake lite and when updated to new style that is where the hole in screen glue is made.

well first verify thats where the leak is by applying some water in the top left corner of glass, they cut the seal out about 2-3 inches in along the top, once verified you can either by some window sealer or silicone and make good from outside and if you can drop the left rear headliner and apply some sealant there. inside may be a bit more for the DIYer .obviously dry the area well before applying new sealer.

a leak update is forthcoming.

In the meantime, I'd like to pick the brains of anyone reading this post.

The water that leaked in caused excess humidity. I bought DAMP RID and hopefully that fixes that issue.

The other issue is that the moisture that had entered was sitting so long within the paneling located in the rear driver side of the vehicle (where the speaker is housed in the rear) that the leather has simply disintegrated into a slime/sludge. The smell is utterly horrendous. Upon entering my car today, my brother asked if a wet albeit dead dog resided in the back seat. The Bentley tech today asked whether the panel had caught fire (due to the appearance of the destroyed leather). Aesthetics aside, the slime/sludge effect reeks and is ruining everything there is to love about driving a Bentley.

Does anyone have anything they recommend I do to quell the smell? Any spray, solution, scented oil trick, anything??

I want to feel again that I am driving a 155k MSRP car, not some piece of crap '92 Corolla that survived a recent flood. I rely on my fellow Bentley drivers to feel my pain and step in to save me from the misery.

PLEASE HELP.

you need to remove the paneling asap. mold is not healthy to inhale. remove all the rear paneling. nothing will mask the smell, you need to remove all that crap and clean out all the mold.

you can re-wrap the panel with new leather if its destroyed. you can source the matching leather from the internet. or just use a black mirco suede, that is what I was going to do in my gt for the headliner.

if the panel under the leather wrap is damaged badly you can look for a replacement

try this guy
1-754-204-2100 hes in miami he has access to gt parts, he might have another panel if yours is damaged badly.

on older cars when doing headliners I used to reinforce the old headliner with fiberglass mat before I would re-wrap it, for strength and because simply you could not buy old headliner backings for really old cars, this might work too before you re-wrap the piece.

the interior shop that does your headliner tell them to re-wrap the panels and clean them all, unless you want to do it yourself. but its a job i would leave to a pro.
