05-06 Bentley vs a newer model.

Hey guys,

So i went to my local Bentley dealer today and informed him im looking into purchasing an 05 or 06 GT. They informed me it would be better to buy an 08 or higher model ( coincidentally they have a used 08 on site). For anyone who has/ had an 05 or 06, or a newer model, should I not go the older route? From my prospective its seems like the best value as long as services are up to date, and of course breaks and third break light check out. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I looked at used cars off an on for about 5 years and could never really find one good enough. In the end I made a few sacrifices and opted for a 2013 V8, I must say that it's a very good car and much easier on fuel than a W12.

2008 did have some good (unseen yet internally) changes in some respects and if you can stretch the budget I'd do the 2008. Had an 06 GT and loved it, with the 07 GTC being wonderful and in fact just came back from driving topless Just make sure she is factory serviced and all up to date.

Last year, I bought my wife an 08 Flying Spur with 10k miles on it. The car was and still looks new.
I'd say look at how well maintained each car looks in relation to how many miles the car has. If the car has 50k miles, the leather may look worn, etc.

Otherwise look at the options or updates of each year and see which ones are important to you.
I would say that the Mulliner packages always look nice

Thanks guys for all the feedback! The reason I wanna buy an 05 or 06 is because i dont care about navi or blue tooth, and to my knowledge, those were the two biggest complaints about the car in those years. So value wise Id stick there. Outside of all scheduled services, is ther eanything else I should be looking out for in those years? Also what would be a fair price on a 06 GT with 40k miles considering all services were up to date with know other issues??

Hi

I have an 05 which bought close to a year ago with 26k miles on it. Looking like new, in low $70's.

eBay Autotrader etc are good reference points for base prices. It is all about the condition though so hold out for the right one, get an inspection and stick to your offer.

Usual rear 3rd brake light went but that has been it for me.

Love it every time I drive it. Which is everyday.

If we don't talk about money, then the newer model will be better. I believe 09+ has a different looking front bumper which looks nicer.

Value wise, older models are excellent choice. If you have the opportunity, opt for a Mulliner edition because they have a nicer gear **** and interior stitching.
