Bentley Flying Spur rear headrests

Does anybody out there know anything about the rear seat headrest motors? I'm having difficulty retracting them down to seat level. Thanks for any info.

it usually is the headrest has come out or in some cases it could be door switch, have you tried lightly pressing on the headrest as you operate switch, are both staying up.

Yes, both are staying up. I think the owners manual says if you sit on one of the back seats it automatically goes up and when you leave, it goes down, but isn't happening. There is no manual control of these. So I'm guessing that one or both have maybe detached from the motor. Don't know if there are 1 or 2 motors in there and I'm trying to avoid having to take the entire rear seat out and check on it. What door switch are you speaking about? Thanks for your help.

Yes, but there is a round lumbar dial and a switch for seat massage, and that's it.

ok have you got a bench seat or two separate seats, there are separate motors for each headrest so,make sure nobody is sitting in car and make sure both doors are closed, both headrests should go down after a short delay,if they both don't i would suspect a door switch ,is your soft close working correctly on both doors.

I've got a bench seat. The soft close is working on both. I just opened each door with the engine off, and if you stick your head in, you can hear a motor working, but the rest doesn't move. This is on both sides I did this. So it makes me think that both headrests are off the track, but it seems unlikely that both of them would be. It's like a crossword puzzle figuring these things out!!!!

No, still hearing the motor noise on both, but it just won't go below the midway detent position. Very frustrating, to say the least! At least I know that the motor is working, although they may not be attached properly, if at all.

I think that's a common problem with the spur. pull head rest from bottom corners up then push down. That's a temp fix until you open door or someone sits on seat. it seems as though its off track on both of mines. However they are separate because my passenger side stopped about 4 years ago and driver side 3 years ago. I bet its a simple fix. Because the motors work even pushes them up but will not lower on its own. let me know if you come up with a fix. remember to tilt the bottom up this will unlock it and it will slide down manually.

Thank you for writing. I'll try it tomorrow and let you know. It's kind of frustrating. Can't seem to figure it out. I think if they just designed it like the front headrests with a control button, it would be much better. I think the idea of sitting on it and then getting up is kind of over the top. It sounds like it's too sensitive and will stop working properly after a period of time. I'll keep you updated if I come up with anything.

you know its not too hard to remove rear seats, the hardest part i always found was getting the lower cushion to go back i its slots,if you have the workshop cd it explains the anchor points pretty well.
