No Volume / Speaker With Nokia Phone Fitted?
Hi all
My new to me 2005 CGT has the phone option fitted and had a cradle on the arm rest to take a Nokia phone so I bought a working (have tried it away from the car) 6100 model and it charges in the cradle but when I make a call from the car it rings but with no volume / speaker.
Has anyone had this, am I missing something? The phone connects but they can't hear me, I can't hear them nor can I hear it ringing.
Thanks
Carl

2005 system was a bit..... interesting. They made a change/upgrade in 2006 as I recall, so you might want to ask the dealer as there is yet an even newer system now. I checked about the new (improved) phone setup for the 2006 GT and it was around $2200+ install from the dealer.
As you may know, many of us here gave up on the early Bentley system and use the Dice Electronics MediaBridge as it is around $250, easy to install and is vastly improved over the stock Bentley system plus adds iApple interface and an 1/8" analog input too.
PS: And yes I HAVE had that same problem you are having in your 2005 within the 2006 GT, it is a Bluetooth problem with the way the old Bentley system interfaces. Only thing that 'solved' it in the 2006 was an OLD WindowsCE/Phone (read: NOT Windows 7 or 8 phone, you need an old Windows CE device) phone that has rSAP interface. That worked great, but the moment you get an Android or iApple phone you are out of luck. And no, to the best of my knowledge NO modern phone uses rSAP and tried workarounds and Android hacks/app with no luck. Use the MediaBridge and it is great!

Not a clue, i used rSAP. Nevertried the plug in. In fact had them remove that in the passenger armrest for a blank as i have the Tibaldi pen made for Bentley that perfectly fills that area. Frankly, stop trying unless you get RSAP capable phone or second SIM card for the slot. jmho

Curious about cell provider.

Im in the UK. Didn't want to bother with the media kit as i don't use it that often (the phone not the car) so disappointed to find that a hard wired function on the car doesn't actually work.
I don't have an RSAP phone (mines a Nokia windows phone) so buying that kit is pointless to me
Bentley????

The newest Bentley Bluetooth module MIGHT work with the Window Phone The dealer can help you sort it all out. This will make things work as you want and let us know the results as am curious myself.

either turn it off by pressing mute for 5-10 secs i think (it tells you in aetis ) or just lift centre console and unplug it form the phone system, the centre console is easy to lift ,just put gear lever in neutral and open sliding door on console and with one hand in pocket where sliding door is lift up gently, it is just held in with clips, mind you dont lift it to far and damage infotainment wood. to do it properly lift speaker cover up off centre dash and then remove infotainment wood and then centre console wood. you will see a small plug coming from privacy hand set.

I was under the impression that the privacy handset paired up with the phone and provided the audio via car, but it sounds like the phone itself may work without the privacy handset at all?
Thank you for your thoughts.

Did you discover anything about the battery question? I was wondering the same thing.

The privacy handset does have a battery but it's a very obscure gelpak type that is hardwired into the handset. I have not been able to find a replacement.
