Pzero

Anyone had any strange wear patterns on their Pzero's.

I just had mine checked and found this.

The problem is very isolated to a single patch right on the edge of the inside tread on the rad with the sidewall.

Yes, had the same issue on both of my front PZeros at different times. The first time, while installing my Mansory kit, the shop saw the right front tire to be worn on the inside. They told me my alignment was off so I had it aligned.
A few months later and 4,000 miles I go into the B dealer for my major service and they tell me my other front tire is worn to the belts on the inside. They inform me that the alignment is out and one of the contributing factors is that my front suspension upper control arm bushings were torn and needed to be replaced. They claimed that if I didn't fix the control arm bushings the alignment would always be in question. I had them replace the bushings and had it realigned. And of course another new PZero tire.
Bottom line, yes I had the same problem with a PZero and it was due to the front alignment being out. Hope that helps.

Will get the front suspension checked and the alignment, what I can't understand is why it is isolated to a specific area. The car has full Bentley service and was only serviced by them 3000 miles ago. It can't have deteriorated in that time could it?

I would have thought that a suspension issue would have resulted in a wear ring all around the tread and not in the isolated area?

Thanks

Neill

My tire went very quickly from everything looks perfect to a significant inner wear ring with partial separation with inner belt showing very similar to your photo. I know that PZero's are relatively soft and it doesn't help that I am running 22' rims. I thought about changing tires to a harder compound but all my other PZeros are relatively new.

I had the same exact thing on my front right wheel almost near identical to yours in size and look. I felt it pulling a bit to right and upon inspection on the lift they pulled it off and i saw the same thing. Very odd indeed!

The tires wear that way because of the camber angles used on the car are aggressive to make the car go around corners. If u stand at the front of the car when it's parked and off you'll notice the tops of the tires a tilted in. That's so when you throw it into a corner the tire actually sits flatter on the road so & you have a larger contact patch to hold the car steady when your "spiritedly" driving. The down side is it eats up the tires. ENJOY LOL. C u at the tire store.

I have 30k miles on my car and have not seen tires like that. At 20k I took off the worn ones that showed traditional even type wear. Those tires look like a total and dangerous failure and I would be very concerned to see tires like that coming off a car.

I am about ready to consider something like this when i am ready for more rubber. I would like to have more confidence in cold weather traction and a more quiet pliant ride.
