I put mine up and use the truck in weather like that and we have had plenty this winter here in E. TN. I don't know if I could stand to have it that dirty and the salt on the roads scares me to death.
BUT
You two guys have the huevos grandes. I bow.

Gene, perhaps you need to find a better detail shop? Any good detailer can ensure she'll be fine in the snow. If you've never driven a GT/GTC in the snow, then you really are missing out on how incredibly capable and fun she really is. Yet yes, after years of Ferrari guys, I understand the mentality of never driving a car... A pity really imho as you're missing out on the tremendous capability in all weather conditions.

It doesn't snow here in Florida. The most fun I had driving in the snow was back in the Chicago area driving a Honda civic. Everyone at work would wait and help everyone get out of the parking lot after a big snow fall. The little Honda and I would just do figure 8s driving on top of the snow. I really don't miss it. Next weekend we are going to The Amelia Island Concours. I will be a class host for the race cars Sunday afternoon. On Saturday our SL will be in a display of SLs at the Mercedes exhibit, at The Cars and Coffee at the Concours. Hope to see some of you at the events.

I am a little surprised the EPA allows the use of all that salt. Certainly the run off is not healthy for the soil and water shed. Don't let an organization like PETA find out some little cute furry animal is hurt by the salt.
I am afraid of the corrosive nature of the melting agents. I won't get my motorcycles out either. In agree with Steven about the detailer getting it off but I hate to spend the $ or the time to do it myself especially if i was out only for a short while.

I actually enjoy knowing that I can drive my car any day, any time, any weather. Check out the snow drift I went through:
