Well once AGAIN my ignorance is on display for all to see. Oh well that seems to be my life and I'm getting used to being wrong quite often.

Dont be too hard on your self Your still spot on , its quite posible to acheive Supersports power from a non speed engine. I think Bentley were thinking Racing and the reliability of such. I think 600-620 hp is quite safe. Lots of people have done it

DrD, I called GIAC months ago and they didn't know if they could do an '07 GTC so let me know how it goes. Yes these cars are fast, and yeah yeah it is me being picky of course. Just soooo much damn bloody weight in these things. The unsprung mass alone is staggering(!). Maybe it is time to trade her in for something more sporty as it seems you want a more sporty ride.

Still, if GIAC can do it, am sure the power improvements will be fun for giggles. Did you ever change the tires for Mich PSS? The additional handling and grip, especially during the twisties, is HUGE over the stock Pirelli P Zero!

BTW, so far have not heard anyone blowing up an engine or spaghetti'ing a tranny due to upping the power using the GIAC software so it seems safe.

Apologies if I seem so very picky, yet when I think 'sports car' my goals are perhaps a bit extreme. Dr D, you're on right track with the McLaren

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I am not sure what you mean by GIAC please explain. I thought you all knew the story about my mods but here it is in brief. I got the cat less pipes from Fabspeed and sent the my ECU's for a flash tune developed by them on a Bentley GT. Gained about 90 hp and sounds good. Since then about 15'000 miles and no issues. I did change to the Michelin A/S3 all season tires and love them for all around use.

I know they are heavy and not sports cars but they are quick and now it's quicker.

So the Michelin A/S3 make a big difference? I could do with a good all season tyre. How well do they wear....what sort of mileage do you get out them?
Thanks,
Frank

Big difference in the ride smoothness and noise, of course to the better. They are already wearing better but i do not have 5K on them yet. I could wear out a pair of the Pirelli in about 5k miles. They have a milage guarantee but I can not recall what it is but it is art least three times better that the original tires. I like to drive mine in the cold but not snow and I never trusted the ultra HP summer rubber compounds. I will post more about them as they turn more miles.

Dr.Disaster, ahhh ok. I knew of the Fabspeed cat-less yet not the tune. Glad you are lovin' the Michelin A/S3 all season tires. Have debated flashing for more HP/TQ, yet am also on the side of being realistic that she already has enough power for most things I use her for and at speed she passes 18 wheelers with ease on tight 2-lane roads (once you frontrun your passing opportunity by manually dropping her down two gears to get the engine revs up).

Thanks, I will bear that in mind. I do alot of my driving in winter.
As you, no Snow but temperatures can fluctuate anywhere between -9 and +10 degC . Normally when I go on a hoon its around the +5 decC mark.
I look forward to your review on the A/S3's
Frank.

I'll never go back to the OEM tires. They have nothing to offer except grip only needed in racing, like this is a race car, and speeds over 185mph. I have not slid off the road yet and I have not been overly inconvenienced but keeping it under 185mph.

I think the only reason the MoCo puts those Pirelli's on is the fact the car is advertised to go over 200mph and therefore they must legally cover themselves for that speed with tires of that capability. They are loud, hard and don't last any time.

Agree the stock rubber is a yawner, especially for the money. Have a feeling B and Pirelli have some agreement. The Mich PSS easily do pretty much everything better than the P Zero, cost less, and wear better too. Just got back from a fun top-down drive to nowhere and wouldn't ya know it, coming around an uphill right (blind) turn and there was a turkey walking in the road. Easily had plenty of grip and missed it without worry. With the Pirelli P Zero the car would have been sliding/chattering for grip so would have probably missed the turkey yet would have been in a controlled slide to do it.

Shoot one of those things out of season and the game warden will be all over you as they are responsible for the wild animals. Hit one with your car and they have no responsibility. I see many more dead deer than turkeys on the roadway. those things are a bit quicker. I guess good tires are for more than speed.

Shoot it? No way! At my last home (big **** place on top of our mtn) I had 'outdoor pet' turkey couple. Probably good 25 to 30 pounders. Fed them every morning with cracked corn.

Funny story, one morning I woke up late and my ex called out to me in the house saying they are at her office big bay window looking in waiting for me to feed them. LOL! They really do have personalities too! We'd get flocks of them (12+ easy, some years 20+) every year as various ones mated. And yeah, plenty of deer too.

Also had a bear I nicknamed Simon. One day the UPS guy called me saying he could not get up our VERY steep at two points 1/2 mile driveway. Figuring he was stuck, I said I'd come down with the F250. He said, "No, um, there's a bear in my way." I said, "Oh that's Simon." He asked why I named him Simon. Well, because whatever Simon Says you do
