Warning re Bluetooth OBD units.
Hi folks.
Some of you will no doubt remember that I have just had the gearbox Mechatronic unit replaced in my GT.
Whilst talking to the Indie, he said that he had been informed by Bentley at Crewe that leaving Bluetooth OBD connectors plugged in can cause control units to fail. Especially cheap Chinese knock offs.
I was using one of these, a Kiwi PLX unit, to run the Torque app' on my Android phone. I always used to leave it plugged in and switched on. Not any more!
If that was the cause of my Mechatronic unit getting fried, then it was a very expensive mistake by me.
For this info' to come direct from Bentley, there must be an issue, so take care.
Les.
