Clock Spring "8E0 953 541 D"
My MFSW would not light up nor would any of the controls work, I have 2 steering columns but, one was the flood and the other was the collision, the collision piece looked fine and stopped turn to turn so the ribbon inside seemed ok, but it would not make proper connection to let the MFSW operate, and I just could not put the flood clock spring in, even though it only had minor signs of corrosion on the connections, SO I picked this baby up off EBay for, GET READY, $19.99 including 2 day priority mail, I arrived home from work late last night and by mid-night it was all in working order !!
So the part number also fits many VW/Audi/Porsche vehicles....

Sweet!!!
As for the cracked hose, as we all know the Bentley factory doesn't seem to give a **** about it They surely must be happy charging owners $3500 or more to fix this widely known manufacturer defect.
Guys, we really need to get a Class Action lawsuit against Bentley concerning the hose / false air over transmission defect. I'm meeting my heavy-hitter attorney soon. She's represented some very important clients so.. PM me if your answer interested party.

This is an amazing project, I had to do something similar with a 2007 Cherokee after Sandy, but that car strips down with ratchet set, screwdriver and a box cutter...this is probably way out of my wheelhouse.
Damn, I thought rebuilding a DsHk was a tough project - kudos, I know I will be referencing these pictures if I have to take a crowbar to whichever POS used Bentley I choose to buy in the near future

What a wonderful and thorough job. Congratulations. By the way if you must redo the vacuum hoses on top of the tranny. ,would doing them from top of the tranny tunnel be easier than pulling the engine?

It can't be done without removing the engine and box, plus a lot more. I'm sure someone mentioned cutting a hole in the trans tunnel from inside the car, but if I recall, that can't solve the problem either.
Here's a picture of mine when it was being done.

You have taken DIY to the ultimate level beyond imagination. I too will be using your picture documentation for future reference. You need to send your pictures of the rebuild to Bentley maybe you can give them a few pointers on how the car should have been properly built. I hope you get to enjoy driving your Bentley after so much hard work. Thank you for continuing to post such great pictures and the description stories. You are an excellent photographer as well as an extremely over the top qualified mechanic.
