Service questions...time vs mileage

I have an 05 GT with 25 k miles. I change the oil and filter every year . I had new flexible brake pipes installed 3 years ago as they have a time based life (think 7 years) not mileage based.

I'm aware of all the mileage based service requirements, can anyone advise are there other time based requirements that an 11 year old car with 25k miles might need ?

i'd probably flush all the fluids (brake fluid is probably ok so no need to do that). It'd also be a good idea, and easy, to replace the fuel filter too.

PS: Also, maybe renew the secondary air injection filters (two needed, 7M3131351). My data also says the 05 models might need to have the engine drive belt changed (part# 07C145933G). Lastly, if you're not sure when the engine air filters were changed (3W0129620B and 3W0129620C)... it's an age thing versus miles.

I recommend brake fluid every 2yrs unless you have measured the water content and decide to extend the interval. Brake hoses every 6 yrs and the drive belt and charcoal canister every 10yrs.

1) change all the fluids (brake fluid is probably ok so no need to do that).

Other guy says 2 years, i think every 3 to 4 years is a fine with your low mileage. If you were tracking the car, i'd do it every other event.

2) It'd also be a good idea, and easy, to replace the fuel filter too.

Every five years or 50k miles.

3) Also, maybe renew the secondary air injection filters (two needed, 7M3131351).

It is part of the 10 year / 100,000 service as i recall from the official Bentley service info.

4) My data also says the 05 models might need to have the engine drive belt changed (part# 07C145933G).

Every 10 years / 100,000 miles per service from official Bentley service info.

5) Lastly, if you're not sure when the engine air filters were changed (3W0129620B and 3W0129620C)... it's an age thing versus miles.

Every 3 or 4 years or 30k miles, it also depends if you live on dirty roadways or....

BTW if you want to err on the side of caution then you may want to send a used oil sample to the lab for testing. My fave oil info website is www.bobistheoilguy.com . In fact ANY fluid (oil, transmission, etc) can be lab tested.

Bottom Line: Fluids and air is what your car 'lives' on. Keep the 'life blood' clean and happy.

Always glad to help, yet double check with a Bentley mechanic to verify.
